Also with in short walking distance are lots of shops, great restaurants, spas, bike, surf board, and segway rentals. Pedi-taxi's and the Santa Cruz Trolley are also fun ways to get about town.
Santa Cruz is home to some of the best surfing. Mid to advanced level surfers can walk down the steps to the famous Steamer Lane. The novice surfer can hit Cowell’s Cove, try paddle boarding around the Wharf or Kayaking, then relax in Magical Oasis’ hot tub.
Santa Cruz has something for all. Guests can take a ride on the Roaring Camp Railroads, bike on the numerous paths or take a segway along West Cliff, see a Shakespeare Santa Cruz play, visit the Seymour Marine Discovery Center or go wine tasting at several West Side vintner tasting rooms.

The West Side is home to the largest New Leaf Market, several vintner tasting rooms, Kelly's French Bakery, Companion Bakers,and El Salchichero. Golfers, reserve your time on the challenging Alister McKensie designed Pasatiempo Golf Course, or the Delevaga Course ( which also has a challenging ultimate frisbee course). The drive to Pebble Beach and Spy Glass are beautiful and about an hour.
There are pick up beach volley ball games, two newly surfaced tennis courts are not far from the house. Soccer, rock climbing, in door batting cage are just some of the recreational opportunities besides hiking, biking and playing in the surf.
