About Anne Koebley

I vacationed as a child on the Outer Banks, and also as a young married wife of a dental student. Ocracoke still has the old feel of what going to the beach is all about, being with family, soaking in the sun, making sand castles and just enjoying life in the moment.

Anne Koebley purchased this cottage in 1999

Why Anne Koebley chose Ocracoke

My husband and I fell in love with the relaxed village community that exist on Ocracoke and our wonderful house that brings a feeling of closeness to us when we are there.

The perfect place for our family to relax!

  • 5 of 5

Horatio's Too is even more charming and comfortable in person than in the pictures provided. We have rented many places off vrbo over the years and can honestly say this one is our favorite. The house is well-stocked, beautifully decorated, and in the perfect location. Our young sons (6 & 8) loved crabbing in the canal and paddling around in the provided canoe. They told us this was the best vacation of their lives. If you're looking for a relaxing and beautiful place to vacation, Ocracoke is it! The property owner was helpful and easy to work with. We are already planning our return trip for next summer and can't say enough good things about this house.

Spring break

  • 4 of 5

We had a wonderful time at Horatio too! We enjoyed our morning coffee on the screened in porch, watched a couple sunsets from the canal in the canoe provided with the house, and loved the outdoor shower after two sunny days at the natural and vast beach! The cottage was clean and had everything we needed!

Better late than never (in my review of this wonderful place!!)!!

  • 5 of 5

I rented this perfect little Ocracoke cottage last year as a girls weekend getaway and it was the perfect find for us!! So much in fact, that we have rented it again this year. We are all counting down the days until we go!! The owner was so accomodating and prompt in responding to any & all inquiries regarding not only our rental but also our Ocracoke-specific questions. Great memories with great friends. Looking so forward to making even more again this year at this great getaway!

Highly Awesome Ocracoke Vacation

  • 5 of 5

We thoroughly enjoyed our family vacation in this perfect Ocracoke cottage. The owner was responsive, nice and easy to work with on the rental. That was important because we were VRBO first-timers. The cottage was spacious--plenty of room for a family of 4; clean and everything worked well from the AC to the wi-fi. Kitchen cookware/utensils included everything we needed. Having the linens was great, too.A lazy canoe ride down the canal to the Pamlico sound, digging for Blackbeard's treasure on a beach, catching our fish dinner were just a few highlights. We would not hesitate to rent this place again.

Our children, ages 9 and 7 will have never forget how much fun we had on the island. The parks service offered free excursions for crabbing and netcasting, The beach was lifeguarded, the grocery store had whatever we needed and was reasonably priced. Time your lunch at the Anchorage Marina so you can see the catch from the morning fisherman.

A highly awesome family trip.

Great place

  • 4 of 5

Wonderful place. It was very relaxing and our family had a great time. Only complaint is that had to be woken up by lawn mower day of departure at 7:30 and when my husband left to bring recyclables to recycle center, I was coming out of shower and heard someone in kitchen saying hello, so I yelled hello and they said oh sorry, you are still here and heard door shut. Really felt like we were being rushed out.

Charming!

  • 5 of 5

We really enjoyed our stay at Horatio's Too! The cottage is small but perfectly comfortable. We have stayed in many houses on Ocracoke, and this one is at the top of the list. We spent our early mornings sitting in the back yard looking out on the Canal and returned to the back yard in the late afternoons. We took the canoe for a sunset ride on the sound. And the house had everything we needed to cook up local seafood and rest after our adventures on the beach. Thanks so much for a wonderful week!
