Located on the elegant rue Réaumur, with its grand Haussmann-style buildings, this is a beautifully refurbished apartment on the second floor with elevator. There are two large bedrooms, one with a king sized bed, the other offering flexible twin beds, each served by a bathroom, one with bath tub, the other with a shower. There is also a separate WC and a dressing room. One bedroom is especially quiet, looking out onto the attractive internal courtyard. The whole apartment is finished to the highest international standards in a chic, contemporary style, while retaining its original 19th century elegance. The open plan kitchen/dining/living space is flooded with light through the floor-to-ceiling windows. A long walk-on balcony allows you to enjoy a glass of wine looking out across the quintessentially Parisian city views.
The 2nd arrondissement is best-known for the Paris Bourse or stock exchange, but, positioned between the historic 1st and hip 3rd on the rive droite (right bank) of the Seine, means that most of central Paris is walkable from here. The quartier is home to the old garment centre – Le Sentier – still active today, and many 18th and 19th century masterpieces including the national library (Bibliothèque Nationale) and the famous shopping arcades at Les Galeries. You are close to the Centre Pompidou and the Opéra Comique, founded by Louis XIV in 1714. Stroll along the permanent market down the historic rue Montorgueil to find some of Paris' best fresh ingredients and master pâtissiers. Hidden charms of the quartier include streets dating back to the 11th century – rue Dussoubs and rue Saint-Sauveur for example – and le Grand Rex, a historic movie theatre not to be missed.

The area is called Bourse or Montorgueil district, the 2eme arrondissement of Paris. You will be right in the heart of Paris in a hip location with the whole city at your door-step, yet accommodated in a calm haven where it is hard to imagine that all this is just outside the front door.
Montorgueil hosts a diversity of interest for visitors including some of the trendiest designer shopping including vintage clothing boutique Killiwatch, known for its cutting edge young designers. Etienne Marcel is a revered street for stores including Kabouki, Barbara Bui and Marithé Françoise Gerbaud. For those with a keen eye for unique French style and fashion sense this is certainly the place to be in.
Montorgueil hosts the remains of the city's fresh produce market - the charming Rue Montorgueil where you can discover fresh fruit and sea-food markets; cheese and wine shops; chocolate ateliers and Stohrer - Paris's top patisserie that also proudly display their own post-cards showing the Queen of England's visit to taste their wares! Open on Sundays, Rue Montorgueil allows you to shop around the clock for the best and freshest Paris has to offer.
And further than here if you have seen it all, head right to the Marais or south to the Louvre and the Notre dame. You are close enough to everything of interest and the place is dotted with metro stations for venturing further out.
Here are some restaurants that we would recommend you try just down the road from the apartment:
Drouant - 18 rue Gaillon, 2e?me
Tel: 01 42 65 15 16 www.drouant.com Open: daily, noon–2.30pm, 7pm–midnight French/smart brasserie
A true grand old-timer, this one a magnificent, masculine brasserie dating from 1880, Drouant hasn’t been allowed to become a dusty relic, thanks to the intervention of Alsatian superchef Antoine Westermann, who also runs Mon Vieil Ami on the Ile St Louis. He does playful things to classi- cal cuisine, especially with the starters and puddings, which often come as multiple takes on one idea, be it Asian beef salad or leek vinaigrette. The interior has been sleekly revamped in golden-yellow tones, with glossy black lamps; the names inscribed around the fac?ade are all past winners of the Gon- court Prize, whose judges have been deliberating at Drouant for decades. It’s very establishment, very upscale, and very Paris.
Le Fumoir - 6 rue de l’Amiral-de-Coligny, 1er
Tel: 01 42 92 00 24 www.lefumoir.com Open: daily, 11am–2am French €50
Famous for its Sunday brunch, but just as much of a pleasure midweek for elevenses, a pot of premium tea or he ape?ritif. The casually chic crowd encompasses every generation, from children to matrons in Chanel flats, and there’s ample room in a series of rooms and on the terrace (indoors is nicer, though). The main bar has a slightly scuffed colonial appeal, with unvarnished wooden floors and ceil- ing fans, whirring in harmony with jazz and cocktails being shaken; there’s more of a restaurant feel in the rear rooms, where you can order from a sophisticated brasserie menu. This is also among our favourite places to come alone with a notebook, novel or the laptop. (left)
One of our very most favourites
Georges on top of the Pompidou Centre, Brunch or dinner with a view!
6th Floor, Centre Pompidou, rue Rambuteau, 4e?me
Tel: 01 44 78 47 99 Open: noon–1am. Closed Tuesdays. French/fusion €60
Places like Georges rule, in a way that rustic-chic bistros can’t. That is because of the uber chic staff, the futuretastic design, the top-of-the-world location and, of course, the gastronomic concept (check out the cinematic titles of the good but not sensational Asian-fusion food) are not of this world. Get ready for slight aloofness from the waiters as you ascend via the transparent tubes, then hold your own among the glossy pods, and you’ll have a terrific time, consuming California rolls, tuna tartare, steak and cocktails. Finally, don’t approach the restaurant from the front of the Pompidou Centre (the way in is round the other side). In fact, don’t approach it in the dark on an empty stomach unless you kind of know where you’re going – falling over and hurting your knee among the Beaubourg’s health-and-safety-flouting architectural trappings is not glamorous.
As part of your booking with us we will also include our concierge service which allows you access to reservations at some of the best restaurants in Paris.

It was extremely clean, well appointed, and centrally located. Everything we needed was there, and the check-in and out was quick and easy. We couldn't ask for a better overall experience.
