Shopping for food:
There is an excellent privately run super market, Sa Botiga, the Fortnum and Masons of Menorca. This is only 10 minutes walk and has adequate parking should you wish to drive. They bake their own bread, have a delicates an and butcher's department. Our clients find all their food requirements here.
Restaurants:
There are 3 restaurants in walking distance.
The Villa Madrid which specialises in pizzas.
The Caraba a good restaurant providing local food and the Pan y Vino in the neaby picturesque village of Torret.
Information about other restaurants, with habour views, specializing in fish etc. are displayed in the house.
Beaches and other poitns of interest:
The house is situated 4 miles from the nearest beaches which are Punta Prima, Binebecca and the charming Bay of Binissafuller. For those who wish to explore the island there are numerous beaches with their own particular charm and often issolated. There is a map with photos of the beaches in the house.
Scuba Diving. There is a Scuba Diving school at S'Algar 7 miles away.
Boat Hire. This can be done in Fornells and in Mahon Harbour
Historic Sites. Fort Marlborough built during the first British occupatiion of the Island in 1720, the Port of Mahon said to be the best habour in the mediterranian. There are also the Stone Age Taulas or standing stones dotted throughout the Island.
Bird Watching. There are some marsh lands along the North Coast which is now a World Hertage site because of its unique natural species (biosphere), which attract interesting birds during migration.
Golf:
There is a good golf course and club house on the island at Son Parc on the North Coast. This is about a 45 minute drive from the House.
