Relax in comfortable furniture in the spacious great room with Cathedral Ceiling and window looking out on to old world courtyard with gunite pool. Entrance hall to the Master bedroom and bath are located off of the kitchen. Master bedroom has Queen size bed and master bath has large travertine walkin shower with rain head. Second bedroom and bath are off the dining room. This bedroom has a double brass bed and bath has porcelain tub and shower. Dining area has table and chairs for six. Kitchen has brand new appliances and is fully stocked for the nights you may want to eat in.Large refrigerator and ice maker.

About The Owner

My husband and I are both in real estate. We currently reside in Mobile, Alabama with our eight year old son Colin. My husband has owned this unit since the 70's and completely renovated it within the last year. It is a favorite property of mine and my son's. We can safely leave our car in our parking area and walk to Magazine Street or take the streetcar Uptown or to the French Quarter.

Why The Owner chose Garden District

My husband bought this in the 70's and used it as a long term rental until a few years ago. At that point with the popularity of the neighborhood and the growth on Magazine Street, we decided to renovate. We use this for a getaway for ourselves but have decided on short term renting while we are in Mobile.

What makes this condo unique

We love to walk to CC's and sit in their courtyard for coffee and a light breakfast. For a quick beer or poboy, we walk up to Tracey's Irish Bar on Magazine. I am a runner and love the beautiful run through the Garden District and down St Charles Avenue. There are so many amazing places and things to do in a short distance!

Perfect

This place was perfect! I love that each bedroom had its own bath which was great for our group of 4 (2 couples ) it's was close to magazine street and just a quick cab ride to Bourbon st. Would definitely rent this place again.

Fantastic!

This is a great place nestled right near Magazine Street. Easy to walk up and shop/have a drink and on the bus route to downtown (you can't beat $1.25 each way and 24/7 bus service). The house was fantastic and suited are needs very well. I was here for a conference with my wife and a co-worker. We took the bus downtown most days and, despite the rain, was very accessible and useful. We walked up and down magazine street and up to St. Charles (where you can catch the street car). Charlotte was a fantastic host and was helpful every step of the way. Despite some cosmetic issues on the outside, the inside is fantastic. Two bed and two bath suited the three of us very well. The kitchen and all the appliances worked well. This location allowed us to explore more of what New Orleans is like and not just by going up and down Bourbon St. The three of us felt safe walking around at all hours of day/night. And even if we weren't, a cab ride is about $10-12 from the French Quarter. Bottom line: Great house, Great area, Great host and we'll definitely recommend and come back.

Great condo!

This is a great place to getaway. I have been staying at this condo for several years and continue to come back time and time again. The unit has off-street parking which is huge in New Orleans. The location is perfect (very close to Magazine Street and a quick walk to the St. Charles Streetcar line). The condo is very spacious, well appointed on the inside, and very comfortable. The exterior of the unit does show some wear, but the location and interior of the condo are perfect!

Nice inside, outside needs work.

My husband and I and two children (ages 4 & 6) stayed here just short of a week in January 2015. We had a great time and enjoyed the condo & city, although we had a few issues with the condo. The interior fixtures are nicely updated, including kitchen and bathrooms. Laundry was a plus for us. Just enough space with the 2 bedrooms/baths for our family. Good location, too. 2 blocks to Magazine St for shopping, coffee and restaurants, and a short walk to the St Charles streetcar. We only used our car once during our stay-we were able to walk and utilize public transport for everything. Having off street parking was a huge bonus!

We were surprised at the exterior condition of the condo when we pulled into the back parking area. My husband is a builder and was shocked at the crumbling/missing siding, exposed insulation and general misalignment of the building. I was willing to chalk it up to aesthetics and let it go, especially after seeing the interior which was nice. Ultimately the exterior was a problem for us when a severe storm blew through and it rained inside the living room through the large window. The temperatures dropped dramatically (overnight lows 20's) and we had to turn on the heat, which is spotty throughout the condo-although I imagine this is not an issue for most visitors because the heat is not used often. Also, we never were able to open the magna-lock on the pool gate-none of the keys fit. I guess it was fine as it got too cold to use it anyway.

Overall we had a nice time and I would recommend the property to parties of 4 or less. I do think the owners need to address the exterior siding and window issues. I wouldn't hesitate to give the property 5 stars with exterior updates.

Owner's Response: I am sorry about the problem with the windows. We have addressed the issue. The condo is in the process of repairing/replacing all of the original wood siding on all three buildings. We are waiting for more assessments to be paid to continue. Other than the windows, the exterior has been checked by a structural engineer and is sound.

the property was as expected and worked out perfectly for my wife 15 year old daughter and myself. great kitchen and bath.Neighbors were also very nice! I would make a few suggestions maybe a little more time on detail cleaning a bit dusty in some places example ceiling fans top of fridge, inside couch lost remote and had to flip some cushions. Maybe another couch for downtime. Would 100% stay again! We took cabs but off street parking is also a bonus!!

Great Choice to stay in Uptown

Lovely space and location. The interior was clean and decorated nicely. It was great having a 2 bed / 2 bath (good water pressure) - my sister and I each had our own space. Having off street parking and a pool were a real treat! Great shopping, bars, and places to eat are within easy walking distance. Taxi ride to the Quarter between 12-15 bucks.
