We've used VRBO 8 times to visit six different holiday destinations (four in the Caribbean).... And as we planned our next holiday we just couldn't believe Bob's description of their "Turtlefish Haven" .... or the outrageously complimentary reviews we read. But we couldn't resist calling and testing it. Bob's professional and personable manner in answering all our questions made it easier to take a chance that his assurances and description were accurate. So we went in this off season and are simply stunned.



This is arguably one of the most beautiful beaches ANYWHERE! And they ARE located at the very center of the entire beach. And we could walk to all the restaurants we needed, and the supermarket was an easy walk to get fresh baked pastries and coffee for breakfast and nibbles for the beach. at what they offer.



We love snorkeling and found you could enjoy just going offshore, but we ended up checking out different reefs every day... there can be no more beautiful water than off Seven Mile Beach!



The condo itself could not be more appealing or convenient. It is right on the ground floor, set back across the lawn from the beach about a hundred feet, which made it even better for us as we like the direct access to the beach while maintaining our privacy without having all the other beachgoers and walkers right on top of us. The open Caribbean flavor interior was delightfully soothing and tastefully decorated with 3 new flat screen TVs. Everything we needed was in the full kitchen and we didn't even miss the lack of granite counters.



The cell phones were so very convenient; we could even keep in contact with each other from the beach to the condo!



Bob and his wife were the most hospitable of hosts. They really went out of their way to inform us in advance and be available to us both by email and phone while we were there. And their housekeeper (Virginia) is both competent and accommodating with a personality to match. Thanks, Bob and Ann Marie.



Bottom line: Their Turtlefish Haven is SIMPLY PERFCT for a family vacation. We will return this coming year, and Turtlefish Haven is the only destination we want. And the SIX STAR review was spot on!

You can spend a ton of time researching where to stay and getting a "feel" for what places are like, comparing prices etc. OR -- you can trust me on this and go to Turtle Fish Haven. It's smack dab on the beach and easily accessible to everything. On top of that, Bob the owner sends a personal and comprehensive letter-guide that offers all sorts of information on how to do things and go places. The unit is fairly basic but it's very clean and has great kitchen stuff. The posted photos are exactly what you see when you arrive. You can walk to the grocery store 2 blocks away and save money by eating in. If you're hunting for a dive operator, check out Indigo Divers and EPIC Divers. Best restaurant experience was the Calypso Grill. Anyway, when you talk to Bob, it's like you're talking to your next door neighbor and he makes everything seem like a trip to the mailbox. Thanks for everything, Bob.

Love This Place!

This condo is comfy, homey but very clean and well stocked. This is the best stocked resort rental I've ever been in. The views are spectacular and once you get out to the beach it is breathtaking. The ambience of the entire resort is quite friendly and safe feeling. Nestled between the Westin and Ritz-Carlton there is nothing lacking for water sports, bars, restaurants and even shopping. The beds are very comfortable. Bob (the owner) is extremely knowledgeable about the island and was so helpful. We definitely want to come back to Grand Cayman and this will be our go to place. So convenient to everything.

Great Vacation

We found this condo as we were looking for an alternative to the expensive resorts. We were going to the Cayman for a wedding at the Ritz and most people were stAying at the Westin. This was the perfect spot! We were able to meet friends at both places and hang with them by the pools and on the beach.

We were able to shop for groceries and save $ on some meals. The Eatz cafe across the street is awesome for breakfast and has tons of options for lunch or dinner. The rental car through Budget was the best price ever for a rental car, and we were able to drive around and see the whole island! It's all very beautiful and impressive.. No bad areas, very clean, and very safe. Perfect for a vacation even if you have kids. Besides the rental car, everything else was a lot more expensive. The American dollar isn't worth as much, and so much is imported I guess that meals can be pricey. But there are tons of great places to eat out.

One thing unique to our trip is that we got to SURF! Kite boarding and paddle boarding is most common, but there were great waves one morning on the south sound part of the island and some of the locals brought us boards and went out with us. It was amazing! I definitely recommend Watermans surf co if you have any interest in water sports while there. They are great people and incredibly helpful/knowledgable of anything board related.

We were very impressed with the whole experience of the island. Definitely my favorite Caribbean island so far! Highly recommend 7MB and this condo!

But I do hope you are a morning person, because the rooster across the street sounds like he is standing outside your door. We get up early any way so it didn't bother us.

Owner's Response: Will, we know you enjoyed the wedding all the more because you had three times the space and greater comfort, at far less cost than your friends at either of the two adjacent hotels. We simply don't know why so many think our location isn't that important, especially when our accommodations, beach quality and local facilities are unequaled anywhere on Seven Mile.

We only hope that your next visit will be longer so you can enjoy so much more that we have to offer our visitors to Cayman.

Relaxing Stay with Awesome Location

My family (5 of us) stayed at Turtlefish Haven for a week and had a terrific time. Bob and Ann Marie were also there at the time and provided useful and insightful information on restaurants and activities for us. This was a third time on Cayman and was the most relaxing and best stay so far !! We snorkeled off the beach in front of the Westin, took long walks in the morning (finished off with great lattes at the Westin next door that has a coffee shop off the lobby !), and in the evenings on the beautiful soft sand beach. The villa was clean, very well appointed with kitchen items which enabled breakfasts and lunches to be made so we did not have to leave the beach ! The beds were very comfortable and the other vacations at nearby units were friendly and quiet. We rented a car since we love to drive to Rum Point (45 minutes) on the other side of the island, but you don't need one at this villa - location is central on the beach and near lots of restaurants and the Fosters grocery store. Highly recommmended !! We'll be back !

Great laid back condo in the absolute best location on 7 mile beach. Walking distance to stores, great restaurants and of course about ten steps to a fabulous beach. The owners are really terrific and have the place set up for a perfect vacation. We had a wonderful time!

Pro's: Awesome location, great accommodations, clean. Only steps to the beach. Water view from the bedroom and living room. Close to good restaurants and Fosters (walking distance).

Snorkeling everyday right off the beach. We saw sting rays and multicolored fish at this location. Red Sail Water Sports is next door at the the Westin; enjoyed the snorkeling safari with our son - went to Cemetery Reef area and down to Eden Rock.

Recommended restaurants; Heritage Kitchen (West Bay Rd and Boggy Sand Rd - at the 4 way stop behind the gas station just north of Cemetery Reef) - turtle stew was very good, Kurts Corner (East end), Eatz (great Buffalo wings believe it or not!!), Sunshine Suites restaurant and Simboco. Don't forget fresh fish from Robert at the port in Georgetown; one of the best meals of the week (Red Snapper and Wahoo the day we stopped by).

Enjoyed snorkeling on the east side (Cayman Kai area) public beaches - no one there. Very relaxing. Also, Cemetery Reef was excellent.

Con: only negative if you can call it that - no pool. No issue for us - we enjoyed the ocean everyday. Almost forgot about the rooster's crowing all day and night - lol..... They are all over the island (literally). Pretty funny....

The island is safe, clean and fun.

Bob and Ann Marie were very gracious and helpful regarding local information and an overview of the island as it was our first time visiting.

Owner's Response: It brings smiles to our countenance when we see that our guests enjoy getting to know the real Cayman as we do. As we say to all e encounter, our goal is to give you direction and helpful hints to make this your best holiday ever, and we mean it!

With 192 certified dive sites around the 80 mile perimeter of the Island and an almost unbroken reef, the snorkeling is amongst the very the best in the world, and we hope you return soon to check out other sites you missed.

As for the pool and chickens, well..... all pools look pretty much the same, don't they? And we really cater to the guest like you that wants to experience the very best that our shimmering turquoise Caribbean has to offer... especially since our water is so calm that most of the time even toddlers can play happily on their own on the shore in wet sand for hours on end! We suggest that those who want a pool go to San Diego where there is ample reason to use a pool...with a far too cold and rough ocean that is best enjoyed by viewing!
Chickens? Uniquely Cayman, and yes, they are everywhere, clucking and pecking for tidbits, roosting in trees just abut wherever they wish to, They are a common sight all over George Town....did you get a picture of the chickens that hang around the KFC? Priceless!
