Beautifully renovated flat in an historic building with every comfort and decorated to the highest standards. The apartment is a genuine home from home with 4m ceilings and balcony.

Located just off the seafront, half way between the Ramblas and the Born, surrounded by myriad restaurants and tapas bars.

Medieval sights abound, mixed in with shops of every description and sidewalk café life.

Large and comfortable living/dining room with small balcony, original artworks, satellite TV, free WiFi, iPod/iPad/iPhone dock and music centre.

Rita spent 20 years in the hotel business worldwide and understands what travellers want. John is an international art consultant. We want to help you enjoy this wonderful city by making you feel right at home in very comfortable surroundings.

Barcelona is such a great city! We both visited Barcelona before we met and had an instant love affair with the city and its people. We wanted to buy an apartment which we could use to explore Barcelona and experience with sights, sounds and aromas that make Barcelona such a great place to visit. There is no place so emblematic than Barcelona's Gothic Quarter and we chose an apartment that gives us the comfort of home within walking distance to all the sights in the historic part of the city.

What makes this apartment unique

Location, location, location! We love strolling over to the famous Ramblas and visiting the incredible La Boquería market, which is over 150 years old! Most of our favourite restaurants are just minutes away by foot or taxi. We love walking along the boardwalk on the Barceloneta beach at sunset.

The apartment is situated in a pedestrian street in the heart of Barcelona's Gothic Quarter only one block from the beautiful Port Vell - Barcelona's old port - where many of the old buildings have been restored and converted into restaurants and galleries. The Marenostrum centre offers shopping, cinemas & the Barcelona Aquarium. You can take the cable car from here to Montjuic for amazing views of Barcelona and the port.

In the Gothic Quarter, medieval sights abound, mixed in with shops of every description and sidewalk café life.

Barcelona's medieval catherdral is a short stroll through the Gothic Quarter and near to Plaza Catalunya. The Picasso museum is just a few minutes away, in the heart of the Born.

Wander along to the Ramblas and soak up the colors, sights and sounds of the famous La Boquería market - a great place to have lunch. A few minutes further on brings you to the MACBA, Barcelona's museum of Contemporary Art.

Paseo de Gracia, with its famous Gaudi buildings, Casa Batllò and La Pedrera is a short taxi ride away. Paseo de Gracia runs from the Plaza Catalunya up to Diagonal and is home to all the best designer shops.

The iconic Sagrada Familia - Gaudí's famous unfinished cathedral - is just a 15 minutes taxi ride.

Moving around Barcelona is easy: taxis are cheap and plentiful and public transport works really well. Two metro lines are only 5 mins away. The hop on/hop off Touristic Bus also stops nearby and is a great way to see the city.

Notes

  • The nightly rate excludes Spanish sales tax (IVA) of 10% which has to be added in all cases. Please enquire about our special discounts for low and shoulder seasons. We will also consider long term rentals. Please ask us for a quotation.
  • Price is per night for up to 4 people. 280 euros for 5 people, 310 euros for six people.
    Final cleaning fee: 120 euros for up to five people/150 euros for six people. Refundable security deposit of 350 euros due on arrival. Late check in fee (after 10pm) 35 euros.
    Discounts offered for stays of 7 nights or more depending on time of year. Certain periods, such as GSM, Grand Prix, Christmas, New Year, Easter carry either a surcharge or a longer minimum stay. We will confirm exact conditions upon enquiry.

This apartment was even better that we expected. It was beautifully decorated and the extra touches added throughout made this party of 4 feel right at home for our10 day stay. The location was ideal--cafes and restaurants, excellent shopping and historic sights all within walking distance of the front door. There was a Metro stop 2 blocks away. We felt totally safe in this residential area night and day. Many evenings we would stroll the streets for a charming dining spot close by. The management was terrific, easy to reach and very accommodating when we had a question or a problem. We would recommend this apartment to our most discriminating friends and family members and would gladly stay here again when we return to Barcelona.

Best customer service of anywhere we've stayed! Greeted upon arrival and shown the apartment and all amenities. Given a bottle of wine to welcome us to Barcelona. Plenty of room for our whole family. The apartment is very clean, very comfortable and had everything we needed. Great location- easy walking distance to the Born, the beach, La Rambla...

Excellent apartment for a family visit

We had an excellent experience staying at Rita and John's apartment. The level of contact and the friendly and hugely efficient way that Rita communicated throughout, even from the first enquiry, filled us with confidence. We were not disappointed - a beautiful and well equipped (and so, so clean) property. We had top service from Natalie, the lady who met us there and showed us round. Nothing was too much trouble. Thank you.

We have 3 children, the youngest of whom is just 2.

Highly recommended.

A wonderful place to stay in Barcelona

We spent 2 wonderful weeks in this gorgeous apartment in October of 2011. Our son is studying in Barcelona and this gave us the opportunity to take the entire family to Spain.

The location of the apartment is perfect and the best in Barcelona. It is on a quiet, pedestrian only street. Nearby are fabulous tapas restaurants, bottle shops, and some of the best grocery shops and markets Barcelona has to offer. The expansive beach and most of the famous attractions are only a short walk away.

The apartment itself is even larger and more spacious than shown on the website. There is a wonderful attention to detail, a well-equipped kitchen with new appliances, beautiful ceramic tiles, classy carpets and hardwood floors. The bathroom even has towel warmers. The beds, pillows and sheets are very comfortable. The window shutters make the rooms really dark and extremely quiet, ideal for sleeping. There is plenty of closet space. The dining room table was big enough to comfortably accommodate 8 people, my family and friends of my son’s for dinners. The sofa and love seat in the living room are extremely comfortable and spacious. The internet worked well and is fast. We were too busy sightseeing to ever turn on the cable TV. An added benefit was the elevator, much appreciated by my 80 year old father.

We highly recommend this apartment to anyone planning to spend time in exciting and vivacious Barcelona.

All we had hoped for...

When we watched the video and viewed the photos on line, we hoped it was an accurate reflection. It was that and more. The appartment was clean and we felt safe in the area. The furniture and appliances were all we needed while on vacation. The high ceiling in the living room and door to the balcony are gorgeous!

Our contact person in Barcelona was very helpful, particularly when one in our group fell ill.

The location was ideal for us. It was close to La Rambla, the metro and excellent restaurants. For beach lovers, it's close to the port.

I have already recommended this to friends and family.
Recommended for:  Age 55+, Tourists without a Car, Sightseeing, Families with Young Children, Romantic Getaway
