Beautifully furnished apartment in Calle Merce near to the Cathedral of La Merced - Barcelona´s patron Saint - and right in the heart of 'Old Barcelona'. Beautifully renovated flat in an historic building with every comfort and decorated to the highest standards. The apartment is a genuine home from home with 4m ceilings and balcony. Located just off the seafront, half way between the Ramblas and Born, surrounded by myriad restaurants and tapas bars. Medieval sights abound mixed in with shops of every description and sidewalk café life. Large and comfortable living/dining room with original artworks, satellite TV, and music centre; fully equipped kitchen, air conditioning throughout, central heating, 2 bathrooms, washer and dryer. Easy access to the airport, train stations and minutes from the metro.

The apartment is situated in the heart of Barcelona's Gothic Quarter - Barrio Gotico, only one block from the Port Vell - the old port - where many of the old buildings have been restored and converted into restaurants, galleries, etc. The famous Ramblas are just a five minute stroll - be sure to check out La Boqueria, the amazing covered market which has some great eateries. The Born, with all its fantastic tapas bars is a couple of minutes stroll in the opposite direction. Barcelona's Cathedral and Plaza Catalunya are a 10 minute walk. Paseo de Gracia, with its famous Gaudi buildings is a short taxi ride and the Sagrada Familia about 15 minutes away. Paseo de Gracia runs from the Plaza Catalunya up to Diagonal and is home to all the best designer shops. Taxis abound in Barcelona and are inexpensive. Barcelona's public transport works really well and there are both bus and metro lines near the apartment.
