Great House, Great Location
My wife and I stayed here for a week in August 2012. We were very happy with both the house and the location. The house is very well equipped. It's expansive, comfortable, and has a great view of the lake. We enjoyed eating at the picnic table overlooking the lake, spending late evenings around the fire pit on a lower terrace, and sitting one evening on the enclosed porch facing the lake. The kitchen had everything we needed. The house – including the bathroom (an issue especially for my wife) – was very clean upon our arrival. The dock has a boat lift, so once we put our fishing boat into the water at a nearby landing, it stayed there until our departure.
The lake is large but has an intimate feel due to the many islands. It's not a busy lake; other than the occasional fishermen (and women), we saw jet skis only a couple of times and only one speedboat. There are houses along the shore in places, but most are set back from the water and almost camouflaged, giving the lake a wilderness feel. In addition to putting fish on the table all week, we picked wild raspberries that were ripe and sweet in the woods between the house and the highway.
Mark is a good host. We highly recommend.
