Villa Princesse 2 is part of a development of an old Chamonix property resulting in an apartment in a charming building in a central location with modern day conveniences. The apartment opens into a hallway and open plan living area with the other rooms off it. The kitchen is modern and fitted. There is a dining table which seats 6, a double sofabed, WIFI and satellite TV. There are 2 bedrooms; the first is a double bedroom with an ensuite shower room and the second is a twin bedroom. Off the hallway is a bathroom and separate WC.
Being situated on the ground floor, this apartment benefits from having a large terrace with ouitdoor furniture which is accessed by large, sliding glass doors in the living area and a glass door in the double bedroom. The River l'Arve runs at the foot of the garden and there are lovely views of the les Bossons glacier.
There is a ski cellar for the apartment's use.
Villa Princesse 2 is just to the south of Chamonix town centre on Chemin du Sapi near Avenue de l'Aiguille du Midi, next to the river. The main shopping street, Rue Paccard, is 200 metres away by foot.
The apartment is conveniently situated just 3 minutes' walk from all the shops, bars and restaurants of Chamonix town centre as well as the shops and facilities of Chamonix Sud. The nearest supermarket Spar (main season only) is in the square of Chamonix Sud (200m away). Popular restaurants such as Alan Peru, the Michelin-starred le Bistrot and the Jekyll are close by.
For access to the slopes, the apartment is located 300 metres from the main bus stop. The nearest ski area is Brévent, 2 minutes by bus. Villa Princesse 2 is also no more than 3 minutes' walk to the Aiguille du Midi cable car, giving access to the infamous Vallée Blanche.
Skiing and snowboarding: Chamonix is one of the world's most famous ski areas, having hosted the first Winter Olympics in 1924. Skiers and snowboarders of all levels are well-served in a variety of differing areas around Chamonix, including Brevent, Flegere, the famous Grands Montets and Domaine du Balme. The Mont Blanc pass also covers nearby areas including Les Houches, St Gervais, Megeve, Courmayeur and Les Contamines, all within an easy drive. Slightly further afield, but within an hour's drive are Verbier, La Thuile, Flaine and Les Carroz. Despite its reputation as an area for experts only, there are plenty of green, blue and red runs to satisfy beginners and intermediates alike. For the more experienced, Chamonix has miles and miles of adventurous off-piste, including the famous Vallee Blanche, an 18 km experience from the Aiguille du Midi down to the town.
Summer and the rest of the year: With the draw of Europe's premier natural attraction, Mont Blanc, Chamonix never sleeps. Whether it's simply to soak up the stunning scenery or get the adrenaline pumping, there is plenty for everybody to do all year round. There are a wide variety of marked trails for hiking and trekking; well-maintained bolted routes for rock-climbing; limitless mountaineering opportunities including Mont Blanc itself; an ever-expanding network of mountain bike trails; some of the most consistent thermals for superb paragliding; raging white water rapids for rafting and hydro speeding; canyoning and abseiling down the spectacular valley gorges; golf at the Trent Jones Sr designed 18 hole course in Chamonix, as well as many other top quality courses nearby; the sports centre has an indoor and outdoor 50 m swimming pool and a large grassed sunbathing area, water slides, numerous tennis courts, gym, spa, jacuzzi, the list goes on.
