Villa Princesse 2 is part of a development of an old Chamonix property resulting in an apartment in a charming building in a central location with modern day conveniences. The apartment opens into a hallway and open plan living area with the other rooms off it. The kitchen is modern and fitted. There is a dining table which seats 6, a double sofabed, WIFI and satellite TV. There are 2 bedrooms; the first is a double bedroom with an ensuite shower room and the second is a twin bedroom. Off the hallway is a bathroom and separate WC.

Being situated on the ground floor, this apartment benefits from having a large terrace with ouitdoor furniture which is accessed by large, sliding glass doors in the living area and a glass door in the double bedroom. The River l'Arve runs at the foot of the garden and there are lovely views of the les Bossons glacier.

There is a ski cellar for the apartment's use.

Villa Princesse 2 is just to the south of Chamonix town centre on Chemin du Sapi near Avenue de l'Aiguille du Midi, next to the river. The main shopping street, Rue Paccard, is 200 metres away by foot.

The apartment is conveniently situated just 3 minutes' walk from all the shops, bars and restaurants of Chamonix town centre as well as the shops and facilities of Chamonix Sud. The nearest supermarket Spar (main season only) is in the square of Chamonix Sud (200m away). Popular restaurants such as Alan Peru, the Michelin-starred le Bistrot and the Jekyll are close by.

For access to the slopes, the apartment is located 300 metres from the main bus stop. The nearest ski area is Brévent, 2 minutes by bus. Villa Princesse 2 is also no more than 3 minutes' walk to the Aiguille du Midi cable car, giving access to the infamous Vallée Blanche.

Skiing and snowboarding: Chamonix is one of the world's most famous ski areas, having hosted the first Winter Olympics in 1924. Skiers and snowboarders of all levels are well-served in a variety of differing areas around Chamonix, including Brevent, Flegere, the famous Grands Montets and Domaine du Balme. The Mont Blanc pass also covers nearby areas including Les Houches, St Gervais, Megeve, Courmayeur and Les Contamines, all within an easy drive. Slightly further afield, but within an hour's drive are Verbier, La Thuile, Flaine and Les Carroz. Despite its reputation as an area for experts only, there are plenty of green, blue and red runs to satisfy beginners and intermediates alike. For the more experienced, Chamonix has miles and miles of adventurous off-piste, including the famous Vallee Blanche, an 18 km experience from the Aiguille du Midi down to the town.

Summer and the rest of the year: With the draw of Europe's premier natural attraction, Mont Blanc, Chamonix never sleeps. BEAUTIFUL SPACIOUS APARTMENT. GREAT LOCATION.

After using this apartment both at the summer and at the winter time, I can just say it’s fab and has it all! It’s in the hearth of the Chamonix town. Easy access to shops, bars and restaurants.

Great to have garden space.

We came here with the kids (2) and they really enjoyed their time there.

We used this apartment at the winter time for skiing and it’s great for the winter as well. Warm and cosy with easy access to the free bus service that brings you to the slopes. Spacious secure ski locker provided.

Although a central location in the town it’s still peaceful and relaxing. The apartment is spacious very clean and very well equipped.

Just around the corner of the village, that is nice. The appartment is okay but is too small for 4 grown ups. One towel per week per person is really absurd!

Owner or holiday-rentals please mention in the description that you are not allowed to smoke in this appartment!
We only noticed this at arrival when we had to fill up a form!

Owner's Response: Just to confirm, our apartments are indeed non-smoking as is clearly described in the advert. To assure future renters, the apartment is average size for a 2 bedroom property, if not slightly larger, so we are surprised by the comments! The photos should be adequate indication.

Travelling around the Chamonix Valley

Although a car provides additional flexibility, Chamonix has a regular free in-valley bus service. Guests with either a “carte d’hote” or a ski pass can use the buses to move around the valley from Les Houches to Le Tour with stops at all the lift stations. There are also shuttle buses called “les Mulets” which are free and circulate the centre of town.

Getting to Chamonix by car

From France: accessible directly via the Autoroute Blanche (A40), which connects to the European motorway network.

Geneva Airport is approx 100km from Chamonix. Cost in tolls is about €6 for a normal car, all major credit cards are accepted 24/7. Don’t get money from the airport – Swiss Francs are not acceptable!

From Switzerland: Motorway to Martigny, then Col de la Forclaz, Col des Montets. Martigny is approximately 50km from Chamonix.

From Italy: Motorway to the Mont-Blanc tunnel near Courmayeur. Chamonix is 15km from the Italian border via Mont-Blanc Tunnel.

By Train

There is a SNCF railway station in Chamonix. It is serviced by the TER regional train. There are TGV high-speed mainline train connections from St Gervais-le Fayet railway station, just 20km away.

The Mont Blanc Express: This SNCF railway line serves all villages from St Gervais-le Fayet to Martigny (Switzerland) via Servoz, Les Houches, Chamonix, Argentière and Vallorcine.

By Bus/Mini Bus

There are coach services through SAT who provides daily connections with Geneva and Italy.

There are many transfer companies in Chamonix who run mini buses to and from Airports. You can either book a private or a shared transfer.
