Great 2 week stay

We stayed 2 weeks and found the cottage exactly as described. Well equipped, clean, great views from deck. The owner is great to deal with. Be sure to bring your own bar soap and shampoo. The furniture on the 1st floor is "up north" rustic so don't plan on a rainy day nap on a comfortable couch. Cell phone coverage is very limited in the cottage area. Garland offers complimentary driving range, 9 hole putting course, tennis courts, pool, wifi etc. with a very friendly staff. Nearby restaurants include The Lodge, best food and menu, Redwood Steak House, great salad bar, The Villager for breakfast. Tally's log cabin bar is a long time local hangout, good for burgers and beer but don't miss Ma Deeter's, in Luzerne, for local flavor. Great Walleye and prime rib specials at $10.00 as well as lighter fare. Glenn's Market is good for groceries but the Lewiston Bakery, on the north side of Main St., is the best for homemade bread and sweets. Easy drive to Gaylord, Traverse City/Leland, Mackinac Island etc. Canoeing/Kayaking on the Ausable River is good at Mio and Gaylord, great at Roscommon. Less challenging golf is available at a well maintained 9 hole course in Fairview, just north of Mio. $15.00 includes cart and tax. Great place to stay, will stay again.
