Location, easy access to and into the property and cottage.
We have rented many homes in Murphy, NC. We go every year once or twice having an awsome experience every time. However, at this cottage, we had a warm cozy feeling we had not feel in the other cabins. It was well stocked. They had everything you can think of from cable tv, to comfortable beds, washer and dryer... We even met and talk with the owner, who is very nice and friendly. He made us feel welcome and comfortable.
We enjoyed so much the mooing cows on the front neighbor's field and the rooster. This cottage is great, Spacious, clean, and at a very afordable price. It's in a great location. Sunrises are spectacular from the front porch. The views of the fields are so beautiful and inviting, to sit on the porch while drinking your favorite beverage taking in all the beauty of this place, to listen the birds singing. Oh how peaceful! We can't think of one negative about this place! This one has been the best! We never rent a cabin more than once, because we like to be able to enjoy a different view every time. But, we will definately keep this cottage on our list for future vacations.
Thank you Rick for allowing us to stay at your beautiful cottage. Many blessings to you and yours.

My husband and I have enjoyed the Murphy, Brasstown, Hayesville area for many years now, but were limited by vacation days. Newly retired, we decided to see the area during the cold season and chose this cabin as our base camp. Our two Shelties love the mountains as much as we do and came along for the trip.
From the moment we walked in, I knew it was a good choice. Before the lights were even turned on, the first thing that hit my senses was "clean." This was, by far, the neatest, cleanest, most organized rental we have ever stayed in. It was cozy, comfortable and everything it claims to be.
There is a large picture window which gave us a beautiful view of the hills and mountains across from us. Happy little Chickadees, Titmouse & Goldfinch in winter garb eagerly came to the feeder we set up for them. A group of five deer came across the property almost everyday. We even saw a large Opossum roaming around at night. A nice high hill behind the home gave fantastic views of the area and a bench was provided to rest after the slightly challenging climb. Large boulders behind the bench offered some climbing fun for the younger folk.
We always enjoy Clay's Corner on Friday nights for the free musical hootenanny that takes place with local musicians and singers. This year, we were able to bring in the New Year with the "Possom Drop." Good clean family fun with no liquor or cussin'. Just kind, friendly folk who make you feel welcome...even if you're from "below Georgia."
We made a couple trips to the "Farm Store" where they sell grass fed Angus Beef. With the help of some dry ice purchased at the Ingall's grocery store in nearby Hayesville, we were able to bring a whole container home with us.
We scouted the local area for our consideration of a 2nd home and found lots to choose from. Jan Roman & John Kelly, with Roman Realty in Murphy were most helpful in showing us properties.
The rental owner, came by to be sure all our needs were met and gave us a lot of helpful information about the area.
It was a wonderful visit and this rental helped to make it so.
We arrived on Oct 10 and stayed until the 19th. The home was extremely clean and very well maintained. Everything we needed was well stocked. A family of 4 and a couple pets were very comfortable with plenty of room. We enjoyed making s'mores in the firepit and walking our dog along the road. We were a little farther from some of the things we wanted to do, (Biltmore, Cades Cove), but we didn't mind because were also there to view the beautiful fall leaves! Very close to town, but far enough away for peace and quiet. Rick came by a couple days into our stay for a visit and was very helpful in answering questions and providing information on area activities. We began planning our next trip, before we even left! Thank you for the wonderful vacation!!
Our family arrived on August 16th, 2014. Our family really enjoyed our stay at this wonderful home. We would recommend this to anyone. We will surely come back in the future. It was peaceful there. We sat on the front porch a lot, and watched the cows and chickens in the pasture across the road. Every morning one or all of us would see deer at the edge of the woods! One day my brother-in-law saw 6 deer! The home is close to the town of Murphy too. The home was clean, and well furnished with everything anyone would need. The bushes and flowers were beautiful too. It is just a short drive to Hawassee, Georgia too. We went to Helen, Georgia which is just beyond Hawassee, Georgia one day. It is a beautiful town. Although I was sick most of the week, I would highly recommend this to anyone. Our whole family loved it, including our brother-in-laws little yorkie!
I spent 3 nights with family and friends and we all thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Everything was beautiful. Clean and comfortable, very inviting. If you are looking for a great place to stay far away from the hustle and bustle, this is it.
We stayed at this cabin for a week in April and everything was wonderful. The cabin was warm and inviting. The scenery was beautiful with so many species of birds in the valley that we filled 2 pages on our bird book. Great fly fishing within 30 minutes of the cabin and a terrific fly shop in town with all the basics. Easy day trips up to Smokey Mountain National Park and "The Dragon." The cabin had everything we wanted. This is a perfect stay. I appreciated how friendly the owners were and how they were so pet friendly. 5 stars!!!
