Villa Maria Dora is a traditional Tuscan stone farmhouse on a fabulous position overlooking the Tuscan landscape. It would be difficult to ask for a more delightful setting of the beautiful shaped pool (in use from 18th of April to 31 October). The villa distance 400 m. of the medieval town of Montalcinello and is close to Chiusdino and less than an hour's drive from Siena, Volterra, San Gimignano, M. Marittima and the coastal resorts of Follonica and Punta Ala.

The villa is composed of 2 separate buildings that form a traditional Tuscan 'borough'. Both units have high-level comforts and furnishing. The main building has a panoramic relaxing room with Jacuzzi. Ground floor: large dining room, library and reading room, a large kitchen. First floor: 2 living rooms with fireplace, 3 double rooms and 3 twin rooms (all 6 bedrooms have a private bathroom). The second building: panoramic living room with fireplace, a dining room and kitchen, reading rooms and 2 bedrooms on the first floor.

Villa Maria Dora: Being placed in a dominating position right above two valleys, Villa Maria Dora makes every window become a 'painting' of the wonderful Tuscan countryside. Because of the presence of four fireplaces and central heating, the villa offers a pleasant stay also during colder days, and during late-autumn and winter months. There are wood deposits underneath the front-entrance stairway and on the back of the house. Telephone in all rooms with all plugs consenting internet access 24/7 (computer's not included).

Besides common equipment, the kitchen also has a freezer, dishwasher, coffee and barley maker, microwave.

Montalcinello, Chiusdino & Siena: The medieval village of Montalcinello is only a few steps away from the villa. Chiusdino is a nearby medieval village of that sits on top of a hill about 30 km from Siena. Views of Siena and the famous roofless San Galgano abbey can be enjoyed from the village. The fascinating roofless abbey of San Galgano is worth a visit. The area is also ideal for hiking, biking, river swimming and hot springs treatments. The magical city of Siena lies in the very heart of Tuscany and her beauty and charm have captivated visitors for centuries. Surrounded by olive groves and the vineyards of Chianti, Siena is one of the most beautiful places in all of Italy. Here you will find world class art, stunning medieval architecture and first class cuisine at your finger tips. The center of Sienese life is the Piazza del Campo where just about everyone takes an evening stroll. It is also the setting for the spectacular Palio horse race which is held every July 2nd and August 16th.

Reserving its medieval aspect, Siena has remained one of Tuscany's most visited cities holding great artistic interest and a wealth of important monuments including Piazza del Campo, Piazza del Duomo, Palazzo Pubblico, and Palazzo Sansedoni. Siena is also notorious for its Palio which takes place twice a year; once on July 2nd to commemorate the miracles of the Madonna of Provenzano and again on August 16th. San Gimignano has preserved its medieval appearance more completely than any other town in Tuscany. The town is famous for its numerous towers which make it conspicuous from a great distance and provide one of the most remarkable sights in Italy. West of San Galgano in a beautiful countryside with interesting old farmhouses, is Chiusdino, San Galganos birthplace. Take a relaxing and scenic drive to San Galgano, where the Abbey of Galgano can be visited. The pure naturalistic and faunal habitat make this area a popular destination for trekking, cycling and horse riding.

    The villa has 16 regular sleeps. We also offer the possibility to rent property 403612 (another stunning villa with pool in the same town) with 13 sleeps. The two villas together offer 16+13=29 sleeps.
  • A security deposit of € 800, for eventual damages, is required in cash-form at the moment of arrival.
    It will be returned at check-out after an accurate check of the accommodation.
  • For the use of the telephone an ulterior € 250 deposit is required that will be calculated at the end of the stay for phone calls that were made.

fantastic infinity pool and excellent service

Thank you, especially for your courteous and reassuring service - this made our holiday all the more enjoyable. The glorious weather, wall-to-wall sunshine and magnificent scenery plus the fantastic infinity pool just capped it all (not forgetting one spectacular thunderstorm) and the friendliness of Montalcinello. We felt very much at ease especially with young children (7) They particularly loved the village Fattoria / Pizzaria with dining tables in the street and, making friends. The room space made our holiday even more relaxing for children and adults.
Thank you again - we have spoken to several of our friends of your excellent service.
