Prince Edward County House Rental Photos and Description
House, 4 Bedrooms + Sunroom, 2 Baths, (Sleeps 8)
We are, again, fully booked for the summer. That's three years out of three, and we especially appreciate the number of guests who have chosen to return for second and third visits.
The fall booking season is now in full swing. Fall is a special time in the County. The grapes are being harvested, the migrating birds are passing through, harvest brings the freshest fruits and vegetables - especially the many different varieties of apples - and the arts community celebrates the season with studio tours and gallery showings. For biking enthusiasts, there's no better time to explore the beauty, the cuisine, and the culture of Ontario's hottest vacation region.
Hawthorn Cottage is 1.5 acres of stunning waterfront privacy near Prince Edward County wine country. The bungalow, set on 115 feet of waterfront, features 4 bedrooms, and amenities including all cooking and eating utensils, linens, internet access, craft room with large table for board games and crafts, a huge deck, fire pit by water, a butterfly garden, horseshoe pits, a golf practice net, and a 200-foot lawn for games and activities. Glorious views and sunsets from the deck, including the local swans and herons. Swim in the limestone-bottomed lake, or bring your small boat (kayak, canoe or small fishing boat) to enjoy the water. The Millennium Trail - a 60-kilometre hiking / biking trail -is just across the road, taking you to Wellington (24 km), Bloomfield (30 km) and Picton (35 km). Or explore the local county roads. Just minutes to wine country, the Prince Edward County Arts Trail, and the picturesque towns of Bloomfield, Wellington and Picton. Just 10 minutes to spectacular North Beach Provincial Park, and 25 minutes to Sandbanks and Presqu'Ile. Ten minutes to Trenton for groceries and other shopping, and all this less than 2 hours from downtown Toronto, less than 3 hours from Ottawa..
The 2300-square foot house features 3 bedrooms each with queen beds, and one with two single beds. If required, air mattresses can be set up in other areas. There are 2 full bathrooms with tub and shower . Indoor parking for two cars, and plenty of outside, off-street parking.
Bed linens and pillows supplied, but bring your own towels.

About The Owner
We were going to rent this house on a permanent basis. But we couldn't bear to.. It's too wonderful. We want to spend time there too. So we're making it available for vacationers, and we'll be there when you aren't.
The Owner purchased this house in 2011
Why The Owner chose Prince Edward County
NOW BOOKING 2015
***PLEASE NOTE: An inquiry is not a booking! Already this year we have had two inquiries which were overtaken by someone else booking the dates. While one person was understanding, the other became upset and suggested that because she had made the inquiry, she had first right. Unfortunately, this is not the case. A booking is confirmed only when a reservation agreement is signed and the initial deposit received***
Our 2012, 2013 and 2014 summers were 100% occupied (please read the reviews) and we expect 2015 will fill quickly. Our first request for 2015 has arrived. We would be delighted to hear from you!
What makes this house unique
A perfect day: Rise to the mist over the bay. Then off to explore the gallery at Huff Winery. A visit to Bloomfield and Wellington for unique shopping. Then a couple of hours on the sand banks catching the sun. Stop at a local winery to sample and select wine for dinner. A visit to one of the local county markets for the freshest meats, vegetables and fruits, then home for dinner on the deck, watching the swans sail regally by, and then looking up at more stars than you've ever seen before. And so to sleep in the perfect quiet of a County night,.
Tomorrow? Golf and boating. Or maybe the area museums. Perhaps the Glenora Ferry to Bath. A visit to Picton, or even Kingston.
Or just relax at Hawthorn Cottage, swimming, crafting and scrap-booking, reading, playing games, and re-charging the batteries with family and friends.
You can do the rest tomorrow. Or on your next visit.
