'Elbow Room' is the best description for the Kentucky Lake Hideaway!
We have done a number of updates including furniture, paint and all new carpet except the basement. We have new pictures coming soon.
We have a favorite saying - If you are lucky enough to be at the lake, you are lucky enough!
This is our home. We feel very fortunate to have it and enjoy sharing all the relaxation, joy and memories that it brings to all that visit. We simply ask that you treat it as yours and respect and care for it as you would your own.
The property is on three acres of its own and is surrounded around the side and back with approximately another 40+ acres of undeveloped land allowing for plenty of elbow room for people and animals. There is much wildlife that calls the area home.
There are only three homes on our road and the other two homes are seldom used. We do have a wonderful neighbor across the draw who keeps an eye on things when we are not around.
There is a gradual trail to our private boat dock with electricity, a fish cleaning station and a swim platform with chairs. Our dock is connected to one other dock as our home and the one home next to it were a father and son. For your enjoyment, we also have a scanoe which is a slightly wider, more stable style of canoe with two paddles that is kept down by the dock.
Our property is most of the way back in the bay so you have very little lake traffic with the exception of some skiing and tubing during the summer. We have year-round water at the dock. I have a deep-V fishing boat and even at winter pool we have enough water to use the dock. If you have always wished that you could enjoy the great fishing that happens through the fall, winter and early spring, drop your boat in the water when you arrive and take it out when you leave. Your getaway is much more enjoyable when you are not wrestling with putting the boat in and taking it out each day or paying extra to leave it at a marina.
If you enjoy fishing, you will enjoy your time here. Little Bear Creek is a very popular and productive fishing bay. It rates above most of the area scores in the TVA Sport Fishing Index Ratings for black bass, largemouth bass and white crappie. There is also great fishing for catfish in the entire bay. In the late spring and summer months the area is full of bluegill and sunfish. The yellow bass is a lesser known and sought after fish but one of my favorites for a fish dinner. While they may not be large, they are plentiful especially in the fall.
From the dock you can easily fish the immediate area, find a favorite spot on the main lake, take a quick trip down to Moors Marina or up to Kentucky Dam Marina, run across the lake to the canal, where the sauger and saugeye like to hang out, and into Lake Barkley or zip across the lake to the quarry or the rope swing. If you are in the mood for a longer sight seeing trip, you can enjoy the scenery all the way south into Tennessee.
Come to the lake and enjoy the wildlife. There are always a lot of beautiful birds and waterfowl on the water. If its not too busy about the house the deer will be around and from spring through fall the humming birds will perform their impressive manuevers. Let the birds sing to you during the day and the frogs serenade you each evening.

This section is to be about the owner but really you are interested in my home and not me. What you need to know about me is that I searched for several years before purchasing this home. I love the home and the area. It is a very calming and relaxing place to enjoy life for whatever length of time you are here. It is peaceful and is not a party house or location. I enjoy sharing my home with friends and family but I do expect that you will respect and care for it during your stay.
This is one of the best locations on the lake. We searched for years before purchasing this property. We wanted a home that did not have that subdivision feel but rather the feel of freedom and space. It was imperative that the property include a boat dock that you didn't have to go down dozens of stairs or a cliff to access and that it had year-round water.
The house, the property and the entire region have a relaxing, magical potion that just makes you feel good. Take a moment to smell the roses as they say and listen to the birds and the frogs. Watch all the wildlife, the herons fishing along the banks, the eagles and hawks circling above and the honking of the geese. While you feel like you have certainly 'gotten away' from it all, you are still only minutes from most anything you might want or need.
When you turn off Hwy 68 onto Moors Road to come to the house, be sure to stop at the produce stand and get fresh picked fruits, vegetables and great melons. Even when they are not there to man the stand, there is still produce from which to choose and a coffee can where you can leave your payment. Yes, there are still places like this in the world. Come and enjoy.
For starters this is a 3 bedroom home! You can't say that a open "rumpus" room with 3 beds crammed in an open basement is a bedroom! We were afraid to get too many people on the deck because it is in serious need of repair and even held together with zip ties in some spots! We saw roaches in the house during our stay,(disgusting! and they didn't come from us we are VERY clean people) we all had to unpack our bags and shake out our clothes before bringing them into our homes! The "slight" grade to the trail leading to the lake is VERY steep! Some middle-aged and elderly people in our group could not walk it, we were forced to rent a golf cart that we feared could flip on the steep slope. The fish cleaning station at the dock does not work, which was a pain to drag the fish up to the house for cleaning. It's not at all secluded, there are houses all around it. The air conditioning makes a horrible banging sound. The two steps between the two sitting areas are about three inches deep without any handrails, which is a hazard. And to add insult to injury, they did not return a portion of our deposit claiming that someone in our ALL ADULT party soiled a bed and they had to replace a mattress pad! That's funny, we stripped our beds before we left, no soiled bed! Of course there were no responses to our email asking what bed?! Just VERY disappointed!!! We have rented some very nice places but this isn't one of them... KEEP LOOKING!
My husband and I stayed here with our sons, daughter in law and infant amd toddler grandchildren. The house was immaculate and very roomy giving us all our own space while being together. Kitchen provided everything we needed to cook as a family all 5 nights. Walk down to boat ramp wasn't too bad - can see where elderly would have issues though. Really only issue was the ductwork in the house - every time the air kicked on or off the ductwork clattered which didnt much bother us adults but my 3 year old granddaughter was terriifed. Loved that it was "like home" in the sense that we felt safe and didnt feel like we had to lock things up like fort Knox every time we left or went to bed. Would definitely recommend to anyone! Owner was great to deal with as well!
The house was roomy and provided lots of space for the nine of us to gather in one spot to eat, play games or go our separate ways. The only surprising thing about the property was the STEEP hill you had to navigate to get to the water.(the problem was we are old.. The owner was very reponsive to questions we had before the trip. We had a great time at the house and in Paducah.
House was great weather was exceptional and, it slept 12 comfortabally. The marina is close to gas up the boat and the covered dock and swimming are was very nice. Next time I vacation at Kentucky Lake I will be staying here.
My wife and I used this place for a boating vacation a couple hours away from our home. Our son and his wife came and stayed with our grandson. Two other sons and another grandson came along as well. This is a very comfortable house with plenty of room. We cooked our own meals, used the covered dock for our own boat and jet ski, and just basically hung out. This house is located on a cove in a good location on the lake to boat, swim, and fish. The owner seems like a nice guy and had the only issue that popped up taken care of by the maintenance guy, who lives next door, within a couple hours. The grill needed to be replaced. He brought a brand new one. The place was neat as a pin also. The cleaning crew did a great job between renters.
We came on a three day getaway from Illinois with our two kids and dog! The property was clean and spacious and exactly as described. The day after we arrived it rained all day and although the kids were disappointed that they could not play outside there were lots of games, cards etc.. provided and we managed to have a fun day indoors. The next day was beautiful and we hired a boat from the nearby marina and had a great day swimming and fishing on the lake! It is a beautiful location and we saw loads of deer and lots of wildlife. The hummingbirds were a favorite!
