LA CANONICA

We had a truly wonderful stay in La Canonica. We were 3 families, including a child (9) and a teenager (16), and we stayed for 4 weeks. The rooms were spacious and very cosy. The house had all modern facilities, but we loved all the interior details that made us feel that we stayed in a house with a lot of history. The pictures does not give enough credit to the place. The swimmingpool was lovely, and had a magnificent view over the hills and mountains in the area. Located on the top of a hill, the air was very clear, dry and refreshing. We enjoyed our many walks on the paths just outside the little charming village Brandeglio. The location was also a good starting point for activities like trekking, mountain biking, cave tours, ravine tours and quad driving in the mountains close by, and also in the Abetone area or in the Garfagnana valley. The picturesque town Bagni di Lucca, 15 minutes away, was often visited. We also watched a fotball match at the local bar/pizzeria together with all the residents in the village - fun! The hosts, Elisa and Paolo, were very friendly and service minded. We would love to come back!
