The chalet with views of the surrounding mountains is situated just five minutes walk from the centre of Guillestre, a small but vibrant village with all the necessary bars, restaurants and commerce. The village sits on the edge of the Durance Valley between Briancon and Embrun giving easy access to the mountainous border region of the Queyras and the 4000m Massif des Ecrins to the north.

The area is renown for the wealth of activities it offers and caters for both family groups and hardcore activists. The Queyras is a mountain area that offers outstanding walking in spectacular surroundings. The whole region is a paradise for mountain bikers with hundreds of kilometres of single track plus serious downhill and bike parks with the all important uplifts in several of the local ski resorts (Les Orres, Vars, Serre Chevalier and Montgenèvre) Road cyclists can ‘enjoy’ several of the infamous Tour de France cols (Izoard, Galibier, Vars and Agnel) This area between the Queyras and the Massif des Ecrin offers a host of climbing and alpinism opportunities both in the summer and winter. In an area that boasts 300 days sun a year, water sports are popular and this region is famous for the kayaking on its white-water rivers. For those who just enjoy messing about in the water there’s rafting and a short fifteen minute drive gets you to Serre-Ponçon, a 32km long lake
