The self-contained and self-catered apartment has its own house cleaning service and is in the close vicinity of the famous sandy Pelekas, Glyfada and Mirtiotissa beaches. Many small, family run shops and tavernas are part of the Pelekas village and some have stunning views of the Mediterranean Sea being located on the edge of the cliff. The walk is easy 8 minutes. Cooking in the tavernas is an interesting mix of traditional Greek and traditional Corfiot cusine.
Nearby supermarkets will provide all the food and staples you need. Should you like to get fresh fish and vegetables/ fruits, the outdoor market at the foot of the New Fortress is a great experience.
The city of Corfu has also a number of nice galleries, museums, antique shops, etc.
Elegant evening out can be well spent in the posh area of Listos cafe promenade.
The Corfu Golf Club is just 7 minutes away by car in the beautiful Roda Valley.
Sailing - Fishing-Discover Pelekas Rentals:
Corfu Ports and Marinas - about 15 minutes from the apartment will rent you a keelboat to sail. The pricing is variable but it starts at 100 Euro per day and the experience is great. The winds are steady on the East side of the island and the sea is protected from the waves of the Mediterranean by the mountain range of Corfu. This makes sailing the streit between Corfu and the Mainland a very comfortable experience.
When driving in Corfu or riding a motorbike, you need to causcious as the vistas are breath taking but you cannot take your eyes off the road traffic and curves. This could be dangerous.
Hiking the 100 km trail of Corfu is a great experience but try, specially in the Spring and Summer to do it in the morning. Once the Sun is high, it can get pretty hot soon.
For city tourists, just walking through the city of Corfu is like being in Venice, without the canals, of course
