A charming period cottage set within the beautiful grounds of the Tillmouth Park Hotel and recently renovated to a very high standard throughout. The cottage oozes character and charm with many period features and an appealing combination of rustic, earthy tones, cosy fabrics and natural wood and stone finishes. A particular highlight is the large, convivial, open-plan living area incorporating the kitchen, dining area and cosy seating area with two sumptuous sofas perfect for curling up in front of the log fire. The cottage overlooks a pretty courtyard garden to the front and an additional walled garden to the side of the house provides a delightful sunny spot for a morning cup of coffee or an evening barbecue. Guests have use of the Tillmouth Park Hotel amenities including the hotel bar, bistro and restaurant which boasts two AA Rosettes. There are superb walks leading from the cottage along the Rivers Till and Tweed. Dogs welcome.

Explore an area steeped in history with fabulous local traditions such as the common riding's, picturesque towns and villages, imposing castles (including Lindisfarne, Alnwick, Bamburgh and Floors), stately homes, evocative ruins and magnificent gardens. Enjoy 1,800 sq miles of unspoilt countryside for walking, cycling and riding, unrivalled fishing and field sports and over 20 golf courses nearby. Two pubs, local shops and famous castle ruins in Norham village ½ mile from house. Several excellent restaurants and pubs within15 mins drive. Historic towns of Berwick-upon-Tweed and Kelso within 20 mins drive and Edinburgh an easy day trip either 1¼ hours by car or 45 minutes on the train from Berwick.

We had very happy and comfortable week in this beautiful cottage. The kitchen is well equipped and the whole cottage is furnished to a very high standard. The walled garden was a lovely place to have meals - weather permitting- and was a safe place for children to play. North Northumbria is a very beautiful part of the country with beautiful beaches, scenery and places to visit with a young family.
