Our town of Chalais also has tennis courts. Angouleme, Cogac and Libourne all have 18 hole golf courses., a 45 minute drive away. Local Lakes and Rivers.: There are plenty of rivers and lakes around the area for canoeing, kayaking and fishing. Several lakes have beach areas, for swimming, and some have slides / volleyball nets and children's playgrounds./ and cafes. The River Dronne close, by offers lots of fun for all the family with boats and canoe's. You can hire boats and canoe's for one, two or four people, in several different locations along this river , so you can see lots of different parts of the river, as you drift down stream watching the world go by, or stop and have a picnic on the riverbank.
