Alberobello Villa Rental Photos and Description

5 minutes drive to Martina Franca and 30 minutes to white sandy beaches

This lovely trullo was chosen and filmed for House Hunters International in 2010 and again in 2013.

Renovated with care, attention to detail and most of all preserving the hundreds of year of history that this trullo holds.

Stone arches, curious alcoves, traditional materials, local tradesmen and time have revealed a trullo that is very special. Considering the environment, natural material were used and rain water is collected in the wells. Chemicals are not used on the 8,000m2 of land private land here and in the garden you are free to pick from the selection of freshly grown vegetables including tomatoes, courgettes, aubergines, onions, potatoes and you can also enjoy the herbs from the garden and fruit from the trees.

Relax in the double hammock that hangs between the fruit trees or cook fresh produce on the stone built barbecue.

You can dine under the natural shade of the 500 year old olive tree & sleep the afternoon away on the comfortable double sun loungers.

Trullo dei Sogni (Trullo of Dreams) is an ideal retreat from the stresses of the real world.....welcome..

Situated just 5 miles from the chic town of Martina Franca and a short drive to the clear tropical award winning beaches of the Ionian coastline, Trullo of Dreams can be found.

Situated on a private road and this ensures the tranquil location is not disturbed.

The electric gates lead into a spacious parking area for up to 5 cars and the private land of over 2 acres.

Here you can find a selection of fruit trees including fig, apples, sharon fruit, plums, almonds and pears, all yours to pick from when in season.

On entering the trullo you are immediately surrounded by the 3 original cones which have been preserved beautifully and hold the history of hundreds of years gone by.

This is now the a spacious living and dining area and is dominate by the large, original, open log burn fireplace, next to this is the second of 3 double patio doors.

This is turned into the 3rd bedroom in the summer when 5 or 6 people are staying.

Entering the newer part of the trullo you will find a spacious stone built Puglian kitchen, a pleasure for keen cooks.

Here there is a full size dishwasher and espresso coffee machine with a supply of coffee.

Stroll along the hallway and you will find 2 tastefully decorated romantic bedrooms and 2 fully tiled bathrooms (one of which is en-suit).

Finished beautifully throughout with antique and solid wood furniture the feeling of quality surrounds you.

Undoubtedly this trullo has one of the most spectacular gardens in the area.

Fruit trees are dotted throughout the beautifully maintained grassed area and here you can pick from the selection of herbs like oregano, thyme, basil, rosemary and of course mint for your evening mojito.

Five centuries of history shades you from the warm summer sun, the wonderful olive tree.

Relax on the double sunbeds or sleep the afternoon away in the hammock under the shade.

The total privacy of the property and large swimming pool (10m x 5m) makes this trullo a very special retreat.

Exploring this beautiful area:

There is so much to do and see in this unspoilt part of Italy.

The trullo is just 5 miles from the beautiful, chic, baroque town of Martina Franca.

In the summer months the town is full of activity.

The city is known as the 'citta del festival', the city of festivals.

The most famous being the musical festival, which attracts people from worldwide in the last 2 weeks of July.

Surrounded by pretty hilltop town with enchanting historic centres and beautiful piazzas I would recommend you visit: Cisternino, Locorotondo, Ostuni (The White City), Monopoli, Pulignano al mare, Conversano.

Matera, Lecce and Gallipoli are a little further away but undoubtedly worth the drive.

Miles of clean, white, award winning, sandy beaches can be found on the Ionian coastline, just 30 minutes from the trullo.

Dining out here is a pleasure. Fresh seafood, locally grown fruit and vegetables and tender meat dishes all at a very reasonable price.

Local Puglian wine is now known all over the world, you can have the pleasure of sampling this at local prices.

If you wish to visit the wine museum in Alberobello and sample the wines I can organise this for.

You could also spend a morning seeing the famous olive oil of Puglian being made or visiting the cheese factory.

After looking at many trulli in the area I immediately fell in love with Trullo of Dreams. Just a short drive to Martina Franca which is beautiful town with a lovely historic centre, great shops, chic cafes and wonderful restaurants.

Trullo of Dreams ticked all the boxes which is not easy.

Set just off the main country road along a private road which is closed at the end so there are only a few trulli beyond the property therefore you are not disturbed by passing traffic. Electric gates lead to the parking area and the lovely setting. You can see other trulli dotted around however the property is totally private and not overlooked, this is very important.

Although I saw many trulli in my search I had not seen one with such a beautiful patio and garden area. The old olive tree on the patio is something quite breathtaking and a lovely area of natural shade.

I loved the idea of picking the ripe fruit and using all the herbs for cooking and the vegetable garden give you a supply throughout the summer.

Trullo of Dreams is very spacious inside and has been renovated beautifully. I purchased many pieces of the lovely antique furniture with the property and have added to these.

Immediately I could see this property was a very special place and I am delighted to say anyone who has stayed here has also seen the same beauty that caught my attention, please read the reviews.

It has now been filmed twice for House Hunters International (America). Once in 2010 and again in 2013.

Perfect stay at "trull of dreams", made even more so by Susan who went out of her way to meet our needs and provide advice on what to see, where to eat, what to do.
The trullo is as delightful as described, very comfortable and well equipped with everything that one would need for a stay.
The welcome pack provided by Susan was more than enough to make a passable pasta dinner at home on our first night (with a good bottle of wine), after arriving late after a 500 km drive that day. We even managed to get some delicious tomatoes from the garden.
The location is great, only 8 kms from Martina Franca but on a quiet cul-de-sac.
Good security with electric gate and alarm system.
Best restaurant (and least expensive) is U'sirr in San Paolo. You need to overlook the outside and the fact that it is called a Pizzeria, because it is much more than that. Giussepe is a truffle hunter and very generous with sharing his finds. The food is simple, hearty and wonderfully tasty, and the family are great with customers (Giussepe speaks reasonable English).
Our favourite places to visit were Matera, Alberobello and Lecce, but the Market at Noci was also fun and vast.
The old parts of Martina Franca and Locorotondo are both delightful and well worthwhile for wandering around, as well as some good restaurants, like La Tana and Due Agnelli in MF.
We will definitely come again, and will tell our friends about Trullo of Dreams.

We recently stayed at this marvellous Trullo and had the most relaxing fun time of our lives. There are not many places we would go back to again but this is a definite yes. The owner, Susan, is a really lovely person and goes out of her way to help you have a stress free relaxing stay. She provided us with the necessary provisions plus more, to keep us going until we could go shopping. The property was very clean and well equipped. I cooked several nights at the Trullo practising the regional foods that I was taught at a cookery experience that Susan arranged.

The cookery lesson at the Masseria was quite an experience. I originally thought it was going to be a group tour to a cookery school but it turned out to be just my husband and I. We were taken to a working farm house where the mother of the house showed us how to make pasta and an Italian meal. We then ate a six course lunch with her husband and son and through our translator, a lovely young lady, we had a good afternoon of conversation and home made produce. Everything was so delicious. I have been invited back to learn how to make the riccotto cheese and the man of the house suggested we come back and do a day on the farm! Susan has a folder full of suggestions of places to visit and every single place we got to visit was really interesting and well worth hunting out. Lovely area of Italy with lots to see. We only stayed 8 days and really needed more time.

The only downside, and this really is only a small one, the pool is small and raised so you can't sit around the pool. Everyone enjoyed the table tennis so a lot of our time outside was spent on this.

Thank you Susie for everything.

It wasn't just a fabulous trullo....
  • 5 of 5
It wasn't just the lovely, well appointed and tastefully decorated trullo set in the beautiful Puglian countryside.
Nor was it cooking with olive wood in the wood fired barbecue, picking herbs from the garden and al fresco dining in the courtyard that made this a very wonderful place to stay...

It was Susie, the owner, who made it extra special for us. She recommended Giuseppe's U'Sirr restaurant in San Paolo & it was a culinary gem. Nothing was too much trouble for her. She put us in the right direction many times & got us out of a couple of scrapes. All above the call of duty.

Thanks from all of us Susie.

Trullo of Dreams
Located in the pastoral countryside this Trullo is truly a dreamy spot.(May be a little hard to find the first time) but with some excellent directions and landmarks provided by the owner it became the perfect base from which to explore the surrounding areas of Puglia. “Trulliland”
We found the “Trullo of Dreams” lived up to its description along with excellent gated security and privacy.
The additional outdoor cooking facility..(stone oven BBQ)… became a challenge for my wife and I to provide the perfect firebase and for my sister and brother in law to prepare the perfect meals to be cooked.
Susan, the owner who lives in the next town was the perfect host and was very knowledgeable in providing us with info. on local restaurants including an excellent one in San Paolo that we would never have found or even stopped at had she not recommended it. Her knowledge of the points of interest in the surrounding towns was also of particular assistance and she was extreme helpful with all our requests. She even provided us with some other out of the ordinary requests including an unexpected need for her personal “taxi services”.
I would highly recommend this property to anyone travelling by car in this area ….country living with all the interesting towns and historic attractions within easy driving distance.
Thanks susan

This gorgeous trullo was well presented and clean. There were some welcome goodies for us on arrival which was much appreciated especially as we didn't have time to stock up before hand.
The peace and quiet and overall ambience of the trullo was wonderfull. If you want a bit more life there are some attractive and lively towns of Martina Franca, Locorotondo and Alberobello only a short drive away although a good satnav is a must.
There is plenty to see and do in the area and as far as food is concerned you can not beat the Italian cuisine. So many restaurants to choose from, so little time. I'm afraid to say we were in 'Hog Heaven'! A possible suggestion, bring a spare set of clothes a size larger for your return trip!!
Guiseppes U'sirr restaurant nearby in San Paolo deserves more than a special mention and is sorely missed now that we are home again.
Lastly and by no means least the welcome and assistance provided by the lovely Susan who owns and runs the trullo was second to none and we look forwards to returning at our earliest opportunity.
