Relax on the patio as you enjoy the river flowing by and the view of the majestic canyon wall. You'll love the warmth of the beautiful cabin which is finished in three varieties of wood including a Douglas Fir beamed ceiling. You will love the view of the river, especialy from the cozy loft. The interior of this cabin is all new with new appliances. Bring your bikes and hiking shoes for use on the old abandoned road up the hill across from the cabin. There is also a three bedroom house on this property that sleeps 8 guests. See VRBO #403515.

About The Owner

We love mountains,rivers, and wildlife. Our son and family live in White Salmon. Our home is in Zillah, WA. We're retired from public education jobs. Our daughters also work in education in the Spokane area. We enjoy our cabin on the scenic, beautiful Klickitat River.

The Owner purchased this cabin in 2010
Why The Owner chose Appleton

We think the Columbia Gorge is such a beautiful area and it is close to our son and his family.

What makes this cabin unique

We watch the wild turkeys, blue jays, bald eagles and deer come around the cabin. We have fun rafting and boating the river, as well as fishing. It is fun to hike and walk in the canyon.

I know most folks probably stay here for the fishing or hunting, but my wife and I came to hike the canyon area. Discovering the abandoned mills and dry ice plants along the river was a treat. Hiking was great here and the canyon was beautiful. Plenty of wildlife and wildflowers! The cabin was quiet and peaceful even though it sits among other houses on the riverbank. All in all, it was a great getaway to a remote area with incredible beauty. Thoroughly enjoyed our two night stay!

OUR VISIT

My Husband and I rented this cabin over Labor Day weekend. The minute we stepped into this cabin, we fell in love with it. The cabin had everything we would need. It was so cozy and fun to stay there. We plan on renting it again in the wintertime. The price was great and there is a nearby store if you need anything.
You wont be wasting your money if you rent this cabin, it was so beautiful right on the flowing river.
Recommended for:  Age 55+, Adventure Seekers, Girls Getaway, Sightseeing, Families with Teenagers, Families with Young Children, Romantic Getaway

perfect retreat on the river

I was pleasently surprised to find the cabin fresh, well designed, and cozy. The perfect compliment to this gorgeous river canyon. The location is off the road (quiet), on the river (beautiful), and just outside of town (convienient). I visited in early summer, but would imagine this place would be excellent year round. Met the owners (the Solomans) they were friendly and polite, offering to do anything to improve our stay. Looking forward to visiting again.
