Bat Cave is small community in the mountains of North Carolina. You can enjoy beautiful winters and warm summers. The community is named for a rare breed of bats the inhabit a nearby cave. Guided tours to the mouth of the cave can be scheduled in the Spring and Summer. This is a beautiful place to get away from the 'busy-ness' of everyday life and enjoy a slower pace where people are friendly and life is calm.

Jon and I were married in 1988. We spent our honeymoon in nearby Chimney Rock. We reside in Kernersvile, NC where we were both born and raised. We are parents to 3 wonderful children; Owen, Hannah and Molly. Jon has been employed with Tyco Electronics since 1994. He is a drummer and has played with several bands over the years. He now enjoys playing in our Praise and worship band at church. I have spent most of our married life as an at-home mom. I have been blessed to provide child care for some precious children who have touched my life deeply. I have taught pre-school, worked as a substitute teacher in our local schools and worked full time with special needs children where God taught me things I would never have learned otherwise. I am planning my first international mission trip in the summer of 2012. I will accompany a small group from my local church to Malawi, Africa where we will work with orphans, widows, and special needs children. We have been greatly blessed and look forward to the oportunity to share our blessings with you.
We had always vacationed at Ocean Isle Beach. Because Jon loves the mountains so much I decided to try something different the summer of 2011. I began to search online for places in the mountains that still provided swimming and sunbathing opportunities. While browsing on VRBO one day I came across a house in Bat Cave. I booked it for a long weekend and we were hooked! We booked a second visit and it was during that visit that we discovered the little house for sale. We fell in love with it and purchased it several months later. We love the fact that there is so much to do in the area. Our daughter loves to visit the nearby wolf sanctuary/rescue. There is swimming, horseback riding, kayaking, hiking, rock climbing, repelling, ziplining, shopping, and so much more.
We love the quiet, peaceful surroundings. The colors of fall are spectacular! Spring is beautiful and full of color. The wildlife is abundant. We leave all our cares at home!
