You'll love this one of a kind house, located in a one of a kind spot!

The 4000 sq. ft. home is in a gated subdivision on the Deschutes River. The back looks out at the river and across to the river trail where bikers and hikers pass by throughout the day. With no houses across the river, it feels like you're out in the country, but you're right in town!

The main level is mostly great room with huge picture windows looking out to the river. The spacious kitchen with seating at the marble island is a natural gathering spot - and cooks will love the fully equipped kitchen with high end appliances including a 6 burner gas cooktop. The other side of the great room is the living area which has a gas fireplace and 47' HD TV with surround sound. Stepping outside onto the main deck, you will find yourself looking down on one of the prettiest sections of the Deschutes River. This is a fabulous place to spend the evenings. The sun sets early behind Awbrey Butte so there is a long twilight. Also on the main level is a full bathroom and an office/bedroom with a queen size bed.

Upstairs are two bedrooms. One is a nice sized bedroom with a queen bed and its own full bath. The other is the master. It's very spacious with a king bed, sitting area, and a huge private deck out over the roof. The bathroom is over the top with dual sinks, walk-in shower, jetted bath, and a washer and dryer.

Go downstairs to the lower level and you'll find yourself in the game room. It has a full size pool table, arcade games, pub table and chairs, couches, a 40' TV and great views of the river. Adjacent to the game room, there is a spacious bedroom with a terrific river view and a queen size bed. There is also a huge bunk room with two sets of bunkbeds and a queen bed. Further back you'll find a theater with a 100' screen and high quality surround sound. Rounding out the bottom level are two full bathrooms. The best part of the basement level is the covered granite patio overlooking the river. Watch the wildlife while you enjoy the shade on a warm summer day; or soak in the hot tub after skiing in the winter.

About Rick Gordon

I'm a carpenter / general contractor. I moved to Bend from Hawaii with my wife who grew up here. Since I like to golf, snowboard, and mountain bike I can't think of a better place to live.

Why Rick Gordon chose Bend

This house is the culmination of years of dreaming, planning, work, and a little luck. A friend found the lot while visiting one of the neighbors. I couldn't believe that there was a lot on the river that was so conveniently located yet didn't even feel like it was in town. After considering a partnership with him to do a spec home, my wife and I decided to buy it for ourselves. Four years and many plans later, we finally started building. We finally moved in February of 2010. Unfortunately, my wife passed away from cancer. Suddenly I found myself with this huge house that is too much for my son and me. Since I love this house too much to sell, I decided to finish off the basement and make it a vacation rental so others can enjoy it. Of course, I also like that I can come use it still.

This house was everything promised. The layout is awesome with three different levels and plenty of room. We thoroughly enjoyed the deck outside, the awesome kitchen and there was plenty of room and bathrooms for 7 women. We would highly recommend this home for a group. It's a perfect location!

Good Times!

The home is amazing and met all of our needs. We had multiple families and kids ranging in ages from 1-16! Everyone had a wonderful time! We brought a baby gate to block the stairs and the pocket doors in the kitchen and pantry helped. The river views are amazing and we spent most of our time relaxing in the sun on the deck. Kids loved the theater room, it does live up to it's name! Rooms and beds are very comfortable, the kitchen is well stocked and roomy enough for all of our cooks. The owner is very kind and easy to work with, we have rented many homes through VRBO, and renting this home was one of our best VRBO choices yet!

The house is beautiful, well appointed, and situated in a place both excluded and readily accessible. House is wired for sound throughout (and outside) and offers loads of bad weather entertainment (pool table, arcade games, hot tub, and table space for board games). We couldn't have asked for more.

Fantastic and fun house

We rented this house in mid-april for a group golf trip and loved it. Rick was helpful and easy to work with and the house is exactly as advertised. Lots of fun things to do at the house, very comfortable, beautiful views, easy to get to, short cab ride downtown. Spendy but worth the price. I would definitely be going back there for another trip later this summer if the house wasn't already booked.

Absolutely incredible

This home was probably the most amazing home I've ever stayed in. The accommodations were absolutely perfect for me and my guests, we couldn't have asked for anything better. The location of the property and the surrounding scenery is breathtaking; the photos don't do it justice. It is also very close to town which was convenient, however, we loved the house so much that we didn't have much to need to leave, other than enjoying the skiing and great outdoors of course. The house itself is gorgeous, and the layout is incredible. The owner was more than helpful, and the house was fully stocked which made our stay all the more enjoyable. Our overall experience was over the top, and I would highly recommend staying here to everyone! We absolutely loved it, and can't wait to come back. A big thank you to the owner for such an amazing experience!
