Near to the popular coastal towns of Aldeburgh and Southwold, attractions include: Snape village, Benjamin Britten's Concert Hall at Snape Maltings, Southwold Lighthouse, Southwold Pier, the Blue Flag sandy beach at Southwold, quaint Suffolk towns and villages such as Halesworth, Blythburgh, Orford, Framlingham, Framlingham Castle, English Heritage and National Trust sites, the historic riverside town of Woodbridge, with its Tide Mill, Dunwich - 'the town which fell into the sea!', and Dunwich Heath AONB (Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty). Golf: Several superb 9-hole/18-hole 'Pay & Play' golf courses locally, including: Aldeburgh (only 8 miles - approx 15 min drive), Southwold, Woodbridge, Halesworth & Lowestoft.

Fishing: Numerous exciting opportunities for both freshwater and sea-fishing close by, including: the lake at Marsh Farm (only approx 2 miles - 5 mins drive), fishing from the quay at Orford, from the shore at Dunwich, Walberswick, etc., from the Pier at Southwold. There is also an excellent tackle shop in the town (500 yards - 5 mins walk away), from where you can order bait, get more information/friendly advice on good places/times to fish.

Winter Breaks: Perfect for Short-Breaks during the winter. Its town location and excellent transport links makes it quick and easy to get there, and to get around the area once there. There are several traditional English pubs and an award-winning restaurant in the town so you don't have to go far if you just want a relaxing 'away from it all' break. But, you will be only 8 miles from the sea (about 15 mins by car/taxi - plus there is a regular bus service), so you may want to take a walk along the shore at Aldeburgh and try the local fish & chips?? And, once back at the cottage you can have cosy log-fires ... so good for romantic breaks too! Quick and easy to get to... There is a direct rail service from London-Liverpool Street (journey-time approx 1 1/2 hours) and 'Corner Cottage' is just 250 yards from Saxmundham railway station (don't worry! There is no train noise heard at the cottage). By road, the cottage is just 70 miles (approx 1 1/2 hours drive) from Junction 28 of the M25.

Other Activities: Birdwatching - close to RSPB Minsmere, North Warren (Aldeburgh), Southwold marshes, and Havergate Island/Orford Ness. Fishing - sea & freshwater.
