Whalley has its own Cistercian Abbey which the Cottage is built from. Clitheroe is just 3 miles away and there is easy access to all the other delights of the Ribble Valley, with the Yorkshire Dales and West Coast both within easy driving distance. The Rail service which has a station in Whalley and the bus service's are excellent and you could quite happily just use the local services to get from scenic treat to another and back home again with out the need to rent a car.
