Don't get out yet--the first stars are waiting to blink back at you and tell you that there is more to life than just you and me. The Milky Way will greet you then and draw you into its majesty. All your cares seem so small compared to the infinite universe.

A LITTLE FISHING MAYBE...
Life can be wonderful especially if you love to fish. Cabezone, salmon, steelhead, ling cod, rockfish of all kinds, sea bass and other superb fish are here waiting for your hook. One guest caught 125 fish during a one-week stay. Surf perch await a hooked sand crab to persuade it out of the water. Rockfish love a piece of squid on a #1 hook with a two ounce weight. They are waiting for you in those big deep pools below the house during low tide. Abalone are located there too, but they are a little more elusive to find. Some have good luck rock picking; others don dive gear and pluck them from the bottom. Scuba diving for fun, photos or spear-fishing is a great way to observe the beauty of the underwater world and bring home the bacon at the same time.
WHAT ABOUT THE KIDS?
KIDS! How about poking your finger in a giant, light green, squishy sea anemone, or trying to pick up a hermit crab without getting bit, or playing 'tag you're it' with the waves on the beach. Okay, if I'm a kid I may--no I will--get wet and covered with sand, but that's what I like. How about soccer, football, volleyball, kite-flying, chasing your sister, climbing the rocks and doing somersaults? Teenagers and young adults--talk to your friends on long walks down the beach and back. The beach never ends! What about a trip to the Point Arena Lighthouse, preserve or wild animal park or a stroll through the shops in Elk or Mendocino?

Brad is a structural engineer in the Sacramento area. We enjoy walks along the creeks, talking and doing many things together
I, Brad, am in my sixty's now but have been coming here since I was 16 with my family. My dad first brought us here to go skin diving for abalone. We spent many times in a campground with a trailer braving the elements until 1984 when my parents built the house with their own hands. It was a project that went on for six years. My parents are really proud of their accomplishment.
The beach is 1/3 mile walk from the house. You can drive or walk. The view from the house or deck is exquisite. You don't have to go anywhere. Movies and books are here so you can kick back and do nothing. Driving to Mendocino or Elk to shop and eat is a favorite.
Access to 7 mile long beach, Near 600 acre Pt. Arena Preserve; close to Elk and Mendocino for shopping and eats. Mendocino Coast Botanical Gardens in Fort Bragg. Wine-tasting.
