WELCOMING PINES

We had a wonderful week in this beautiful and peaceful location! Our favorite part was watching the sun rise from our own private dock. Buck Pond was small enough to be safe for our kids to take out the kayaks on their own, but big enough to enjoy swimming and fishing. We also went to nearby Loon Lake for kayaking and canoeing.
Our whole family, including our two kids, my parents and brother had plenty of room to sleep and 'hang out', both indoors and on the vast porch overlooking the water. The kitchen was well equiped with plenty of room for us to gather around the table together.
We had two dogs with us, and the house and porches were designed to 'contain' our dogs when needed, which made it very easy to manage them and keep the house clean. (We still crated them at night and if we left them home alone.)
From the house, we were able to easily take day trips to Lake Placid and High Peaks area. Saranac Lake was easy to get to for amenities.
There were only a few things to be aware of. We wished there was a gas grill for outdoor cooking, though, we managed to remember how to use charcoal! We ended up buying drinking water because we found the well water disagreeable after a few days. Our biggest 'dislkike' was that the walls were very thin and sound traveled; so the TV downstairs could be easily heard by those in the upstairs bedrooms.
Other than those minor things, our whole family enjoyed our stay very much. The owners and caretaker were very nice and helpful! We would definately recommend this rental - just not on our week, because we plan to return next year!
