We were looking on VRBO for a condo with a southwest feel and found the perfect place with this unit at Rancho Manana. The location was easy to find and out of the traffic. We stayed 8 days and it was not enough. The unit was clean and pretty and the owner and the property manager were great. The Tonto grill on site was excellent and there were many other restaurant options nearby also. There were plenty of hiking trails and horseback riding available in addition to roaming around Cave Creek and Carefree for some unique shopping. There was even a bull riding event one evening. We flew into Phoenix airport and it was about a 45 minute drive to the unit. Our unit was on the second floor and the walk up a set up stairs was well worth the better view. The bed in the second bedroom was the better bed.
We would definitely like to come back.
My wife and I stayed at this casita for six weeks from the middle of December, 2013 to February 1, 2014. Wonderful condominium seperated from the first fairway by a thin screen of desert vegetation, creating a perfect highway for the desert quail in the mornings. We enjoyed twilight golf on the beautiful course and hiking in the Spur Cross Conservation Area, only 15-20 minutes away. Tonto's on-site restaurant is excellent. The town of Cave Creek has lots of character and some extremely good restaurants. Rancho Mañana and Carefree are on the edge of the desert and do not suffer the heavy automobile traffic of North Scottsdale and Phoenix. This particular unit was very private with great views of the golf course and only a short walk to Tonto's and the Pro Shop. Securing our reservation with Jon went smoothly and the on-site manager was very friendly and helpful. We highly recommend this property.
My wife and I stayed the month of March. Wonderful property, great owner and local manager. Cave Creek is a neat little town with lots of shops for the gals and golf within walking distance for the golfer. We found this resort on VRBO and it worked out well with Jon the owner. Hope to stay again.
WE have stayed at Rancho Manana in the past, and this is our favorite unit. The location by the golf course but separated by some nice trees is perfect and the BBQ and kiva fireplace are just outside your door. We saw two baby bobcats outside our deck on several mornings. Nice pool and just a 2 minute walk to our favorite restaurant, The Tonto Grill.
We stayed in the casita over the holidays while visiting family in Cave Creek. This was so convenient for our family with three small children. The condo was furnished with everything we needed including a subzero fridge and Viking range! We loved the two large bedrooms and baths and my kids loved "swimming" in the Jacuzzi tub. It gave everyone ample space to spread out. The location of this condo was ideal for our family. It has two patios and the one off the kitchen faces the golf course with some trees for privacy. It opens onto a grassy area which was perfect for the kids or for someone seeking a little more privacy.
Everything we needed was there, including a hair dryer. I'm giving this stay 5 stars because I do believe it was an excellent place to stay. We would definitely book there again on our next visit to Cave Creek. If I had ANY negative at all it would be the comfort of the bed in one of the bedrooms. My husband and I are in our 30's and would like to think that our bodies are still somewhat resilient (maybe not :) ), but we both struggled with the king bed in the room we used. The only other thing was that perhaps the tile floors could have been cleaned a little better. I grew up in Phoenix, so I understand that the battle of the dirt and dust on tile is never ending. I may not have even noticed it except for the fact that I have a crawling infant who's hands and knees were showing signs of dust/dirt. I did not mention this to the property manager since we spent most of our time away from the condo anyway. However, I know that he tried to come by and introduce himself to us several times and I'm certain he would have taken care of it had I mentioned it to him.
All in all this was a wonderful place and I would definitely recommend it!!
We spent 10 days in this beautifully appointed condo just steps off the first tee of the premier Rancho Mañana golf course. We enjoyed hiking at the Spur Cross Conservation area, bull riding at the Chip, and an awesome supper at Tonto's. The views were spectacular and found the surrounding areas very interesting to explore. Desert living at it's best, bobcats and all.
