From fireworks to chameleons

We were a family group of 11, with one granny; two teenagers and one of 11. Holidaying together is an annual event and this year we chose Bubaqra.
We chose well - the tower is stunning, the grounds expansive and the pool big enough for us all. There was plenty of space for everyone to sit at either table in the garden, but our favourite was under the shade of the bougainvillea, just outside the large kitchen. The spiral stone staircase is impressive, but could be an issue for some and the 3 single rooms on the roof are not as pleasing as those inside.
Matthew (local chef who needs booking in advance) is a dream, creating delicious masterpieces under our very noses! The housekeeper Diana and her family are wonderful, friendly and really helpful. We chose the very reasonably priced option to be met at the airport as we arrived on a Saturday afternoon. Very thoughtfully Leonard suggested we stop at the supermarket on the way there so that we could pick up essentials for a meal that evening, as the hire cars weren't arriving until the following day. There was nothing Diana and her family weren't able to help us with during our stay. The house is very well set up and everything is provided from ice blocks to keep your shopping cool to sun hats to keep you cool. I very much appreciated not having to buy every single thing we would need during our stay from extra loo rolls to salt and pepper! Shops are a short stroll for all your needs and great swimming and dining just 15 mins by car at the Blue Creek, providing you ask Diana how to get there!
We arrived during firework season, which was great entertainment of an evening, sat on the roof of the tower, with a glass of wine watching the truly amazing display of fireworks exploding all around us. The one daily 8am firework, wasn't appreciated quite as much though!
Look out for the chameleons in the garden and time your visit right and enjoy warm figs from the trees around the pool - what more could you hope for on top of everything else this amazing Tower has to offer.
