Photos and Description of the Reggio Emilia vacation barn rental 2 Persons suite on a 70 hectare wine growing farm

On the ground floor of our old 'Barchessa', extension of typicall local farm-house in which we live in, surrounded by a 'Lambrusco' wine growing estate of 70 hectars, a 60 square meter flat has been recently renovated. Entrance from the cotto paved threshing-floor, living room with dining and cooking areas, one big queen size bedroom with complete shower room. In the hart of the busiest Italy this estate is a sort of enclosure. Private grounds all around, The 'Barchessa' has its own garden, outdoor table and chairs, umbrella, garden shower. And silence.

30 minutes from Parma, Fontanellato, Colorno. 20 minutes from Reggio Emilia, Correggio. 40 minutes to Modena and Sabbioneta. 60 minutes to Mantua and Bologna. Many things to sight-see in the padan plain. A forgotten by tourists Italy. Where mythology wants Apollo's son crashing into the Eridano river (now Pò) and the sisters turned into poplar trees. Here Dante and Petrarca came to meditate on the stone of Bismantova. Here renaissance moved its first steps at the courts of the Gonzaga and of the Este. Here are landscapes painted by Correggio, Mantegna, Parmigianino. From here great painting collections mooved to Hampton Court with Charles Ist, or to Dresda with Albert the strong leaving empy the palaces of Mantua and Modena. Here where the first Mediaeval known artist (Antelami) brought up his cathedrals in Parma, Modena and Fidenza. Here where you can have a real taste of Parmisan, culatello or prosciutto di Parma, drink fizzy Lambrusco and eat real tortellini. You should be here.

We were welcomed by Stephano to a tastefully decorated converted barnhouse. Beautiful surroundings -big mown lawn and vineyards around. The apartment is well set up and the main bed very comfortable. Stefano and Margueta are wonderful hosts but always unobtrusive. We would devintely stay there again.

Wir waren im September eine knappe Woche hier und haben uns einfach prima erholt. Die Wohnung ist sehr gemütlich eingerichtet, die Austattung ist ebenfalls gut. Man kann viele Ausflüge machen, hierzu braucht man allerdings ein Auto. Margherita und Stefano sind liebe Gastgeber und helfen gerne, wo sie nur können mit guten Tipps für Ausflüge, die nicht in jedem Reiseführer stehen. Sicherlich werden wir wieder kommen. Danke"

Wir waren dort Anfang April 2009, und hatten Pech mit dem Wetter. Man darf im zeitigen Frühjahr nicht in die Po-
Ebene fahren, habe ich mir hinterher sagen lassen.
Trotzdem ein gutes Domizil für Ausflüge nach Parma, Reggio, Modena und Bologna und Umgebung.
Nachteil: Man braucht für alles ein Auto.
Vorteil: Riesiger Garten und sehr liebe Vermieter, die gerne helfen, Tips geben und sehr sehr freundlich sind.
Einkaufsmöglichkeiten: gut
Zustand der Wohnung: sehr gepflegt, teils mit Antiquitäten
eingerichtet.
Ausstattung: zufriedenstellend
Die Räume sind angenehm temperiert, im Sommer dürfte es schön kühl sein. Jetzt im Frühjahr funktionierte die Heizung optimal.
Bad: super Dusche mit ordentlich Wasserdruck und Temperatur
