Spacious and well equipped Holiday House for groups up to 23!

Le Relais is situated on the edge of a delightful and quiet village, surrounded by glorious countryside of sunflowers, cornfields and woods, a nature lovers paradise. This lovingly restored 12th century Country post house has all you need for a perfect, relaxing holiday.

You can go walking, fishing, beaches, canoe, play golf or tennis, dine out, all within 10 mins.

The attractive, enclosed garden provides peace and tranquillity as well as areas for games and activities. Both, a paved area beneath a shady pergola and a sunny terrace, are ideal for alfresco meals.There is a very large, airy dining room (62m2) with a piano, seats 24, a spacious salon, comfortably furnished and with plenty of books, opening onto a Perigordian balcony and a large, well equipped farmhouse kitchen. Le Relais is approximately 5 km from both St.Severin and Aubeterre, the 'jewel of the Charente'. The wine regions of Bordeaux, St.Emilion/Pomerol and Cognac are not very far and well worth a visit!

Golf Information:

There are a number of golf courses within easy reach. These include: Manoir de Longeveau - 9 hole course with 3 hard tennis courts (5 mins drive) Angouleme - 18 hole course, Cognac- 18 hole course, Perigeux- 18 hole course.

  • PRICE PER WEEK FOR 16 PEOPLE & £90 FOR EACH EXTRA PERSON.

    During mid and low season smaller groups are welcome for a reduced rate.
    Please pay 25% of total rent as a Non Refundable Deposit to secure your booking.
    Balance is required 8 weeks prior to arrival date with a £350 Refundable Security Deposit.
    Linen and towels are provided. Change Over Days Saturday to Saturday. Arrival at 5pm and departure at 10 am.
    140 Euros end-of-stay cleaning fee.

Hemos estado la semana santa de 2011 en Pillac, un grupo de 21 amigos, 9 de ellos niños con edades comprendidas entre 4 y 9 años.
Ha sido una estancia muy grata, ya que la casa está perfectamente acondicionada para grupos grandes con niños. Tiene muchas habitaciones, varios salones, un gran comedor, un jardin con juegos para niños una piscina, (aunque en las fechas que estuvimos no estaba utilizable) y un salon con juegos de mesa, ( billar, pin-pon)
Han sido unos dias estupendos en una zona con muchas cosas para ver a pocos Km. de Pillac. El pueblo es muy pequeño y tranquilo.

Wonderful place for a large group with children!

We were 4 families holidaying together, including 9 children between the ages of 3 and 9 and we had a really lovely time at Le Relais. The pretty grounds are well laid out so it's easy to watch the children and the pool is fenced for peace of mind. Having a playhouse is a really thoughtful touch and Barbara even brought us extra toys too. The kitchen is unbelievably well stocked as she also runs cookery classes and the dining room is an enormous space. That said, we spent the whole week eating outdoors under the gorgeous pergola and that is definitely my fondest memory of the week. There is a mix of bedrooms, some more rustic than others, but all were perfectly comfortable for us. Aubeterre up the road is great for paddling and kayaking and we did that several times during the week. We also went to the gorgeous town of Brantome and did more kayaking there. Barbara is delightful and couldn't have been more friendly. We have been to 7 different houses now and would certainly rank Le Relais as one of our top favourites - the accommodation works really well and it is excellent value. It was already full for this year and we are now going somewhere more expensive, but it was free we would have definitely gone back!

My family group of 18 ranging in age from 78 to 7 had the best holdiay we've ever had at La Relais. The house was so large that we never felt on top of each other and the garden was fantastic, lovely pool, great eating area, superb for hide and seek etc. Barbara was very helpful and amongst other things booked us into a local restaurant for a 'typical' french lunch, we mainly ate at home though because there was no reason to venture out as the garden was perfect for alfresco dining and there was always more table-tennis to play! Would definitely recommend it to families and friends that enjoy just being together.

Great house - ideal for a big family with kids even the very young or a group of friends. Barbara was extremely helpful and friendly. I cannot recommend this house and area highly enough.

Our family reunion.

Our family consisting of 11 members including three small children had a wonderful time in Le Relais. The swimmingpool and barbecue were used intensely and we had most of our meals in the garden. We enjoyed the landscape around Pillac`and visited villages in the neighbourhood. Le Relais is the ideal place for a familygathering, but as I noticed also great and romantic to celebrate a wedding as the big and lovely house is located close to a little old church and during our stay an English couple with weddingplans visited the house, the church and the old villageschool, now in use as mairerie/townhall. We hope to come back in the near future as we love it there. Janny
I would like te add that I as a building engineer, I really appreciated the way the old house with alterrations was restored. One could see the old structure of the original house with beams and walls which shows that this was done with great love and dedication. My compliments! Hans.
