Alexandre was waiting for us when we arrived and the facilities in the apartment met all our expectations. The beds were very comfortable, everything was clean and neat and the hot water in the shower was a joy. The Kaiser bakery he suggested was fantastic!
I'm only giving 4 stars because the street noise until late in the evening and the very early garbage truck noises disturbed our sleep, particularly in the bedroom which faces the street. I know this is something over which there is no control and the apartment is not over a bar or disco or some such noisemaker. It is simply in a very busy tourist area full of restaurants and shops. We viewed it as the price we paid for being in such a vibrant central location where we could and did walk to almost everything we wanted to see.
I was pleased to see that many of the criticisms in previous reviews had been taken care of. Alexandre definitely cares about his guests and takes care of the apartment.
A lovely little apartment right in the middle of the bustling Latin quarter, with street cafés and shops on the doorstep. The owner was very friendly and was there to meet us on arrival from the airport. The rooms were clean and tidy with plenty of storage space and comfortable beds. There was constant hot water and a good bath and shower. The only reason I didn't give 5 stars is because the rubbish bin had not been emptied for our arrival and the cutlery needed cleaned before we could use it. However, these were minor issues and certainly did not spoil our enjoyment of the apartment in any way.
We had a terrific time in Paris and this apartment was certainly very well positioned. I must say however that we were disappointed with the quality of the apartment compared to the pictures. We are a family of 4 and the size of the apartment was good. Alexandre wasn't there when we arrived as promised resulting in an anxious wait and having to make contact with him. We waited in a smelly courtyard near the bins and restaurant workers visiting to smoke for more than 45 minutes. When we got into the apartment it didn't feel very clean and this was 4.00pm. Towels from the previous tenants had been washed and were hanging out the window drying. Some type of chemical was quickly flushed down the toilet making us question whether the seat and rest of the toilet had actually been cleaned, although it did seem ok? Unlike previous comments our towels were good and certainly better than others that were in the cupboard (not neatly folded). There was no tea towel but he did bring one back later that day together with a cork screw. Bed linen was just ok.
A pair of shoes was in the middle of the floor which were apparently left by the previous people but should have been removed prior to new guests. When hanging our clothes in the cupboards there was a dirty pair of socks still in the cupboard, once again making us question the level of detail given to cleanliness and hygiene. The shower/bath was clean. The bathroom however needs some attention with paint, plaster and stickers peeling off the walls and the water pipes etc had a lot of dust on them.
When opening the oven the tray was very dirty so we closed the oven and didn't use it at all once again thinking that basic things are not checked between guests. The cutlery and crockery wasn't clean so we had to wash several items prior to using them and the wine glasses were very smeary. We had to buy a new dishcloth as the one left was wet and stained - obviously from the previous guests too.
Cushions and rugs on lounges hadn't been straightened. Obviously the apartment wasn't ready for us.
Overall the apartment was functional and well located but certainly not presented as expected from the photos. Location and size of the apartment are good but until the level of cleaning improves and attention to detail I think you can do better.
This may sound a harsh review but we stayed in a lot of apartments during our 4 week European trip and we have only given excellent reviews to all other apartments.
We are a family of 5, kids 15, 14 & 12 and thoroughly enjoyed of 3 night stay in this apartment. Superb location close to Odeon & St Michel Stations, walking distance to Notre Dame, Louvre and a supermarket only 2 minutes walk away. As has been mentioned in other reviews is not a massive apartment and with 5 it means a sofa bed in the living room BUT we spent most of our days out and about AND it was extremely reasonably priced which makes it a good deal for a family travelling. Yes there are a few flights of steps but it all adds to the character - was not a problem for us. Alexandre was always very prompt with replies and communication was easy for the booking process. Likewise Alexandre made check-in and check-out easy. Overall good value for money for a family with kids - wouldn't hesitate to recommend this accommodation.
Our family of five enjoyed our stay in Paris very much. The apartment is in a great location with a supermarche and boulangerie in very close distance. Great location to many of the major tourist sights. I did wash the floors when we arrived and couldn't resist rearranging the cupboards so there was some kitchen storage. The toaster doesn't work and the hot water tap in the bathroom was "fixed" with a wrench left attached so it technically was repaired ..just don't touch it. :) Overall we would stay here again and I think I eventually figured out the washing machine/dryer..no small feat.
This apartment was in the perfect location for exploring Paris. Less than 2 blocks from the Pont Neuf bridge and easy walking distance to the Luxembourg Gardens, the Louvre, Notre Dame, and the Musee D'Orsay. Also easy access to the metro, which was very easy to navigate.
The apartment is on the small side, but perfectly comfortable for our family (2 adults, 2 children ages 6, 7). The 3 floor walk up was fine for us, but if you don't do well on stairs, you are best staying elsewhere. It was nice to have a washer/dryer unit in the apartment.
