Bob and I have lived in Jackson for close to 40 years. Our first home was closer to town as we raised our children. Once the kids were off on their own, we decided to move out of the hubbub of Jackson to a quieter area. We purchased this property in the winter of 2002. Bob designed and remodeled the home in 2003 adding 1000 sf of living space. Once the main home project was complete he quickly moved on to designing and building the guest house. It took over a year but he did 90% of the work himself. It's beautiful - he did an amazing job. We decided the guest home would be the perfect place for vacationers who want quiet nights and open spaces.

The Owner purchased this house in 2002

We are 18 miles from Jackson which we drive daily for work. It's not that far from the center of acitivity. Our guest home has internet which allows anyone the ability to stay in touch without having TV or a newspaper dropped on the front porch. It's a great place to disconnect if you prefer that too!

Quiet, accessible, connected or not, garage, trails, comfort, laundry, wild animals, close yet so far away....

Excellent cabin for my family of 4. Everything was as described by owner. Comfortable, private, clean, and very relaxing. Very convenient location for exploring the area including downtown Jackson, Grand Teton NP, and Yellowstone NP. Very highly recommended.

The house was wonderful. We enjoyed our stay very much. We had lots of peace and quiet but still had lots of fun traveling to the Yellowstone and Teton National Parks almost daily. Highly advise this hose for a great stay.

QUIET WINTER GET-AWAY

  • 5 of 5
We loved our winter get-away at Red Top Meadows.
The house is about 10 miles from the main road in Wilson, but it's a pretty easy drive and nice and quiet once you arrive. There's plenty of open space, ungroomed trails, and a fire road for snow shoeing and xc skiing. We had lots of fun exploring and caught a surprise Teton view our first day out. Saw lots of tracks but no animal sightings. We loved the heated garage - HUGE bonus on a winter trip to WY - and we became instant friends with the hosts' very friendly dog, Buster. The house was very clean, and we enjoyed the loft as well as panoramic views. Didn't really miss a fireplace and the radiant floor heating was a real treat - nothing like a warm floor when you get out of bed in the morning. Our hosts in the main house were gracious and very helpful and informative but not at all intrusive. Loved this winter hide-away and look forward to going back again soon.

FABULOUS GET AWAY

  • 5 of 5
We loved the location of this little hide a way. It's off the beaten track, thankfully! So beautiful! The little guest house is so cozy and comfortable. Everything we needed and more. There is no TV, but that is the way we liked it. If we needed to connect with the world, the house has high speed WiFi. We were there to mountain bike, rock climb and hike. After talking to Jo and Bob (very informative and helpful), we found out that 2 minutes from our house was a trailhead for some of the best mountain biking to be had in the area. Beautifully maintained trails, awesome descents and incredible views. Although, we were happy for an after dinner stroll or ride on the road...too gorgeous for words.
Careful for the Elk, lol... ps..if you are looking for 2 bedrooms, the upstairs loft bedroom is lovely, but it is accessed by a steep ladder. Fun if you're up to it and maybe not too safe for little ones.

GREAT GUEST HOUSE FOR WYOMING VACATION

  • 5 of 5
Three of us rented the guest house as a home base for vacationing in the area. We were looking for a place just outside the city of Jackson yet close enough to day-trip to downtown, Grand Teton National Park and Yellowstone. The guesthouse was a wonderful place to start and end our days. We really liked having the garage to load and unload our stuff inside rather than outside each day. Also appreciated the washer & dryer so that we didn't have to take so many bags on the plane. The tile floors offered radiant heat which kept the place warm and cozy. The bedroom downstairs was a nice size with lots of drawer & closet space and the bed was very comfortable. We were also happy to find plenty of pillows. My sister utilized the loft area and, even though she’s 50 something, didn’t seem to have a problem climbing the stairs. It was nice and roomy with plenty of light up there and offered a small sofa, desk and chair. The bathroom accommodated the three of us very nicely with plenty of hot water and towels for showers. The kitchen is the main reason why we rent from VRBO instead of staying in hotels. We love having the option to cook in rather than eat out all the time. It offered all the modern conveniences and plenty of cookware, serveware, utensils, etc. Had the weather been warmer we would have enjoyed sitting on the deck in the morning with a cup of coffee or glass of wine in the evening. We did grill burgers on the propane grill out there one night and it worked perfectly. The wireless internet access was greatly appreciated. Especially since there was no television. We had brought our laptops and spent the evenings downloading movies and pictures from the day's sightseeing. All in all, the guest house perfect and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The owners couldn't have been more hospitable and helpful yet allowed us our privacy. Can't wait to go back! Wyoming is truly magical.

Our property is part of a residential enclave surrounded by the Bridger-Teton National Forest. We are at the center of all this wild area has to offer: Hiking, mountain biking and horseback riding in the summer. Back country skiing and snowmobiling in winter- all from the front door. In the fall, hunters have access to one of the area's elk herds in the hills behind the property. Fisherman can try their luck in nearby Fall Creek. We are ten miles south of Wilson, Wyoming on the paved, scenic Fall Creek Road. Jackson and Teton Village are 30 minutes away, but visible with a short hike to the ridge top behind the house.

Wildlife is common- elk, mule deer and coyotes often cross the property. In the spring and summer sandhill cranes are visible, and audible, from the deck, as are geese, redtails, and bald eagles. Snipe liven the spring evenings with their calls, giving way to nighthawks as summer progresses. We have seen wolves, bears and mountain lions in the near vicinity.

If you want peace and quiet for your stay but still like ready access to Grand Teton Park or the Jackson area, this is it. Please be sure to ask us about events in the area and things to do. We would be happy to make suggestions.
