Beautiful Victorian built in early 1900s, with original hardwood floors, windows, and so much more. Unique to this house is the basement level which features more modern architecture with concrete floors, and bank of large windows to enjoy the back yard. House features 3 large bedrooms, with 3 living areas, full kitchen with appliances and 2 scenic decks. Backyard is landscaped and provides privacy. Most of all, location is walk away from downtown, restaurants, bars and shopping.
Keywords: Amazing Victorian home in the heart of downtown. Walking distance to 6th St., minutes to UT and all sporting facilities, Convention Center, easy access to all areas via I35.
This house is very sentimental for us, as we took a year and a half to restore this former abandoned house back to the architectual integrity that was the Victorian era. Each phase of the renovation made us fall more and more in love with this house and what it represented. We are very please to share this property with others so that they may also experience what we know... this is a very special house.
sharon wang purchased this house in 1991
Austin is such a dynamic, energetic and fun city, being downtown is where its at. The vibe one gets from being on the Eastside is truly unique. There is so much to do just within walking distance or a short drive. UT games, SXSW, Austin City Limits Festival, Zilker Park, 6th street, Congress Avenue, Town Lake, and so much more.
The Texas State Cemetery is just a stone's throw away. This is not a traditional cemetary in any way. It is more a park with a pond, rolling hills and lush landscaping.
Sharon's home is beautiful and wonderfully located. Coffee on the back porch and the beautiful Victorian architectural details were highlights. Check-in and out was easy, and Sharon offered great recommendations on yummy places to eat in the area. Pictures shown are exactly what the house looks like and more. Next time I'm in Austin, I don't want to stay anywhere else.
Beautiful home with a great location. Large rooms, lots of windows, very comfortable. Location was perfect and allowed us to walk to downtown as well as restaurants on 6th street.
Charming home with a great location, just across from the State Cemetery. We had a total of three couples and a child. The downstairs master, includes a room with a couch-bed which was perfect for the couple with the child. The house was walking distance to restaurants, bars and coffee shops and convenient bike or Uber ride to downtown or the University area. We hope to return when visiting Austin and have recommended the house to our extended family who plans on traveling with a group soon. We were initially concerned with parking given it was only street parking, but never had a problem, and we stayed during the beginning of SXSW. The house was comfortable and roomy enough where the 7 of us did not feel we were invading each other's space. The owner/manager was extremely and timely responsive in answering any questions we had during our stay.
My family and I had a wonderful time in Austin for a 30th birthday. The house is in a great area and was very spacious. We were 7, but could have been comfortable with 8. Sharon was prompt with returning text messages and phone calls.
Great location, walking distance to many fantastic restaurants and shops, comfortable for large groups. We (a group of 8) have been comming to Austin for the last 3 years, this has been our favorite house thus far.
The house was adorable, clean and accommodate our group of 6 adults perfectly! It would easily handle a group of 4 couples well, too. I highly recommend this if you're looking for a nice place in Austin.
Sharon was such a pleasure to work with! We came to Austin for a bachlorette party and could not have picked a better house to stay in! It has a great lay out and plenty of space for everyone. Great restaurants and downtown within walking distance. I would HIGHLY recommend this property again and again.
This property is located by the historic Texas Cemetary Park. This park is like no other with a pond, amazing landscaping and a true memorial to our Texas Heros. Jump on over to 12th Street and sample some Nationally Acclaimed Franklin BBQ, heralded by Bon Appetit as the 'best BBQ in the US'.
