We live on the boarder land from Piedade, Caminho de Cima 33. Above the fisherman - village Calhau. From our natural grown garden, quiet and protected against the wind, you have a beautiful view over the Atlantic Ocean and the neigbour island Sao Jorge. You spend your day in a quiet, rural environment. Here you can plan your trips and let the day end. We offer our guests also a welcome-dinner on the first day, when you spend your vacation here with us in our typical acorian lavastone house.

Casa Maria is a detached holiday house, finished in July 2006. Fitted with a big bedroom with 2 beds, a little bedroom with a bunk bed. The beds are all 90 x 200 cm. There is a bathroom with shower. A reading place as well as a combined living-dinner room with a small kitchen. Furthermore you have a big terrace with a beautiful view over the Atlantic Ocean and the neigbour island São Jorge. You can enjoy this view already when you take your breakfast or you relax in the suspension chair. Terrace furniture and sunshade belong to the equipment.

Nearest Airport: Pico or Fajal (PIC / HOR) at 35 Kilometres
Nearest Ferry: Madalena at 45 Kilometres
Nearest Beach: beach at 800.0 Metres

Piedade is on the east end of the island Pico. The village is 130 m above the ocean. In the centre of the village you will find banks, supermarket and cafés, even an internet café. The environment is dominated by wine fields and grazing fields. For people of nature and traveler is this an always green island - the ideal place. On the east side live not many people. Even more and more fields lie fallow and convert to pasturage, the people cultivate wine, potatos, vegetables and corn for your own requirements. Between the fields is woodland and little lakes. Here on Pico, the people are more than on the other island, faithful to there old tradition. On the boarder from Piedade on the way to calheta is the beautiful 'parque Matos Souto'. The layout of the garden is marvellous and there is also a little lake and a house with birds.

sehr nettes Ferienhaus, eingerichtet mit allem was man braucht, sauber und gepflegt, sehr gute Betreuung durch die Vermieter. Absolut ruhige Lage, gute Einkaufsmöglichkeiten im Ort. Mietwagen ist zu empfehlen, wer Nightlife sucht ist hier falsch! Ideal zum relaxen und abschalten, Natur geniessen, Delphine beobachten, gute Tips vom Vermieter, können wir nur weiterempfehlen

Romantisches Bijoux auch mit Kindern.

Als "Wiederholungstäter" waren wir im Juni 07 bereits zum zweiten Mal bei dieser netten Familie zu Gast.
Das Casa Maria ist ein sehr gemütliches und romantisches Domizil!
Wir sahen das Haus bei unserem ersten Urlaub im Juni 06 unter den fachkundigen Händen Tonis entstehen.
Schon im Rohbau faszinierte uns das Gebäude.
Entstanden ist ein Bijoux!
Die Vermieter sind sehr unkompliziert und hilfsbereit!
Für Kinder ist es ein Paradies, da nebst Hunden und
Katze auch viel Umschwung zum spielen, klettern und Hütten bauen vorhanden ist!
(Die Hunde sind sehr nett und verspielt)
Um die interessante Insel zu erkunden ist ein Mietauto absolut empfehlenswert.
Nutzen Sie auch die örtlichen Beziehungen der Vermieter um individuelle Aktivitäten zu planen!
Wir waren sehr zufrieden. Empfehlenswert!

Hallo Familie Daum, schon eine Woche sind wir zurück und wir sind nach wie vor 'mega' begeistert von den erlebten Tagen auf Pico und Faial. Wir möchten uns noch einmal recht herzlich bedanken für Eure Gastfreundschaft und die zusammen verbrachten Tage! Ich verweile jeden Tag öfters ein paar Minuten auf Pico. Ich sehe dann die schöne Vegetation, ich erinnere mich an die vielen Düfte und höre die Vögel oder die Brandung............. Liebe Grüße Bruno und Nelly, Hausen/Schweiz. ** Anne und Gene Wallace schrieb am 29.03.2007: Pico ist einfach wunderbar. Piedade ist ein wunderschöner und ruhig gelegener Ort und die Einheimischen sind nett. Die Ferienwohnung für zwei Personen ist super eingerichtet, in wunderschöner Lage und die Gastgeber, Toni und Steffi, sind überdurchschnittlich um ihre Feriengäste bemüht. Einfach wunderbar! Ich kann den Urlaub auf Pico bei der Daum Familie jedem empfehlen! Das war der beste Urlaub, den wir je hatten.
