'WEAVERTON' - QUAINT LOG HOME IN SHENDANDOAH VALLEY

Shenandoah House Rental Photos and Description

House, 3 Bedrooms + Other (See Description), 2.5+ Baths, (Sleeps 9-11)

Weaverton is a unique log and stone home built in 2002 but was designed as a reproduction from 3 different time periods in the Shenandoah Valley; a log cabin from the 1750's; a Hessian stone addition from the 1800's; and an early Victorian wing from the 1850's. Perfectly and carefully placed on 12 rural acres in the heart of the Shenandoah Valley, Weaverton is the result of a dream come true for the designer and builders. The logs were dismantled from a 200 year old bank barn. Stone from the foundation of the barn was used to build the massive stone chimney and fireplace. With attention to every detail, each room in Weaverton tells a story. The large family room on the main level is equipped with a stone fireplace and flooring using historic bricks. Baskets hanging from the overhead beams along with woven rugs bring that special country feel.

The full kitchen is home to custom cabinetry and is spacious for a family gathering. Weaverton is furnished with all your kitchen dinnerware and cooking utensil needs.

The main level master suite has an antique king bed and accompanying drawers/dressers. Connected to the master bedroom is a full bath including large jetted tub, walk-in shower and two seperate vanities along with a dressing area.

The lower level is home to a cozy family room including large screen TV and unique handmade bar with bar stools as well as a full bed.

The upper level contains two large bedrooms. Included in the upstairs rooms are a full size rope bed, 2 queen beds, and a twin bed - all with antique handmade quilts. There is also a full bath on this level.

A favorite spot at Weaverton is on the oversized covered 'rocking chair' porch that overlooks cascading waterfalls and watergardens. The many flower gardens are home to hundreds of brillant daylillies. The watergarden has many different types of water plants including waterlillies and lots of fish. Relaxation takes on a whole new meaning when you are sitting by garden, listening to the music of the water in harmony with the chirping of the birds as you take in the views of the Blue Ridge Mountains off in a distance.

The 2-door detached garage is convenient for parking and has ample room for storage.

WEAVERTON WINTER WONDERLAND

  • 5 of 5
I took my granddaughter with me to the Winter Wonderland Christmas Celebration that a co-worker/friend told me about. He is well known in this area for the delicious BBQ he makes on his pull along BBQ smoker/grill. His wife had the log room set up with multiple tables decorated with red table clothes to serve food for the many guests there visiting the craft show. This had to be one of the coziest homes I have ever been in. It was just beautiful and every room I walked in had me saying "Wow". I could live here and never want to leave. This is how beautiful it is. The kitchen and downstairs bedroom that I saw was so beautiful with all the antiques. We went outside to the covered porch to see the waterfall, which was so peaceful. The craft show/bake sale was set up in the detached garage. People were enjoying mingling while sipping on hot chocolate. Everything I saw is very impressive. I would highly recommend this as a retreat for anyone that has a busy lifestyle and wants to get away for some peace and quiet. A real stress reliever. Also, a beautiful place for a wedding, family reunion, just any type of gathering to enjoy the beauty and peacefulness this house and outdoors just naturally gives.

A FANTASTIC GETAWAY!

  • 5 of 5
Over the years we have rented many nice homes through VRBO. This one was the nicest home we have stayed at for many reasons. The photos do not do it justice. The views are gorgoeus, the home was cozy with several great spots to curl up and read a book, well appointed and very clean! Plenty of space for kids to run around and play outside. Many great activities to choose from that are just a short drive away. We loved it so much that we will definitely be back!

RED WING TRAVELLERS

  • 5 of 5
We stayed at Weaverton with friends of ours during a recent trip to the Staunton area. There were 8 of us in all (4 couples).
This property can not be properly represented with the pictures and description on VRBO. All of us agreed that Weaverton exceeded every expectation. Every inch of the property was so beautifully designed and constructed. It was a special weekend for us and being able to stay 4 nights in this beautiful setting was almost worth the trip without any of our other planned activities.
We used the property as a 'base camp' as we travelled back and forth from the Natural Bridges park to attend the 'Red Wing Roots' music festival hosted by the Steel Wheels.
In addition to the music, the guys also found time to hike and bike while the ladies had a great day visiting the local antique stores. On our last day we did a 30 mile bike tour of the valley which started and ended at the Weaverton driveway.....was just a beautiful ride.
Would stay here again with no reservations.
Many thanks to the Weaver family for making this family treasure available to the public.

GIRLS WEEKEND RETREAT

  • 5 of 5
This was my second time staying at the Weaverton property and I found it equally as lovely as the first time. The rich history of the house and attention to detail are something to admire. The house is beautiful, clean and extremely cozy. Our group enjoyed the eat-in kitchen for our meals and relaxed in both living rooms. I highly recommend this property for your visit!
