House, 2 Bedrooms + Den, 1 Bath, (Sleeps 4-6)

Our centrally located home has everything you need for a great weekend getaway. We offer free high speed WiFi, free satellite TV, a convenient full kitchen, 6 person jacuzzi, central heating, wood burning fireplace, mud/storage room, off street parking and more..

The entire house is newly remodeled and redecorated. The den includes a pull out futon that sleeps two comfortably, an audiophile grade stereo, blue-ray player, HD TV, free Netflix and Pandora and the cozy fireplace. The kitchen has all the amenities including dishwasher, gas oven and stove, pots, pans, plates, utensils, glasses, kitchen table etc. The bathroom is newly remodeled with a new tile and glass shower and on demand wall heater. The master bedroom is large with a seating area, storage and queen size bed. The second bedroom has twin beds, storage, DVD player and 27' standard TV. There are large decks in both the front and back yards. The private backyard deck holds the jacuzzi and a year round 6 burner gas grill. The yard is completely fenced in and is pet and child friendly. There is summertime grass and shade and warm weather furniture. The front door offers key-less entry (deadbolt and door handle) for your convenience. The driveway is large enough to park 4 cars, or an RV plus boat.

Towels, bedding, and common supplies are all provided. All you need to bring are your personal items. Restaurants, gas and groceries (Vons and Stater Brothers) are nearby.

6 person maximum occupancy.

About Ken

We are a fun loving couple from San Diego that just love, skiing, biking, kayaking, hiking, motorcycle riding and off roading in Big Bear. We've recently renovated, converted and furnished our full time rental into a vacation rental so we can enjoy Big Bear with our friends and share it with other people.

Ken purchased this house in 2005
Why Ken chose Big Bear City

I chose this location while on a mountain biking weekend in Big Bear many years ago. I wanted something that was within 1 mile of Snow Summit, Bear Mountain and the lake. During the summer months we rarely use the car or SUV once we arrive at the house. We also wanted something far enough from the main drag to be quiet but close enough to be accessible in bad weather.

What makes this house unique

We love the fact that this neighborhood is quiet, and safe. It has great night time views for our evening walk. It is within easy bike riding distance to both the back side of the lake and the summer mountain bike trails.

Refreshing Get Away Weekend at a Cozy Cabin

My husband and I spent a long weekend with our son and his girlfriend at this wonderful cabin in Big Bear. We enjoyed the Snow Play area which is just a block away and Skiing at Snow Summit. We also took walks with our 2 dogs around the neighborhood, lake and forest which are nearby. It was a very enjoyable time and the cabin was very well appointed with a very nice flat screen TV and amenities. The rooms and bathroom are well sized so we did not feel crowded at all. The kitchen is also a good size and allowed us to cook some of our meals in. It is equipped with a gas range, microwave, full size fridge, dish washer, and other small appliances. The yard is fully fenced which was great for the dogs. We even enjoyed just sitting on the front porch since the neighborhood is quiet and you can see the Snow Play area from there. The spa was a perfect temperature and the house was warm and cozy with a fireplace in the living room. The furniture is comfortable and there is a nice washer and dryer in the mud room. We totally enjoyed our stay and will hopefully return again! Thanks to the owners for sharing their wonderful retreat with our family and pets!

The cabin was out a ways. You have to use your vehicle to get eveywhere. The property was clean except for the crumbs in the futon, gross. If your looking forward to using the Jacuzzi after skiing then you might want to find a different property. In spite of all the trying to get it heated up with all the crazy directions and talking with the owner we never did get it to work. The owner said he would give me a discount. $20 hardly worth it. I could have just rented a place without one for much cheaper.

Owner's Response: I have the property professionally cleaned between tenants. I will instruct them to check in the futon and chair cushions for crumbs or dirt in the future.

I'm very sorry about the jacuzzi. I had hoped that the repair service would be able to resolve the problem during your stay. Unfortunately, they didn't have the part on-hand during the weekend. It is being repaired to tomorrow and replaced in the spring with an energy efficient model once the snow thaws.

I think you misunderstood about the discount. I said $20 per night plus a free weekend. Because of futon crumb comment, I'll increase your refund an additional $20 per night. That means your stay is almost free if you take advantage of the free weekend.


I'm a little surprised that you think it is far from everything. I feel that is just about right. It is nearly equidistant between snow summit and bear mountain. It is exactly 1 mile to snow summit parking lot and a mile and 1/4 to bear mountain. It's close enough that I ride my bicycle to both areas with my skis in a rack and boots in panniers because it's faster than parking the car on the weekends. Vons and Stater brothers are even closer.

I prefer the quiet neighborhoods away from the condos next to the ski areas and downtown. Most tenants agree. It's also very close to the children's for pay snow play area. Close enough to walk even with little ones.

Nice cozy cabin

We enjoyed our stay at this cozy cabin. It is well equipped and perfect for our family of four. I was hesitant to stay in Big Bear City because we wanted to be close to the slopes and other attractions. I won't hesitate again. It's very close and convenient to all. Wonderful place to stay at Big Bear!!

We loved staying here. How refreshing to find a vacation rental that allows larger dogs - this is my first vacation that I was able to bring my dog along with me on! And the pet fee is extremely reasonable.

The house was very nice, clean, and comfortable. The hot tub out back was WONDERFUL after a day of skiing and snowboarding. We had four people, but the house can easily hold 6, if you don't mind sharing a bathroom amongst that many people.

We will definitely try to stay here again the next time we visit Big Bear :)

Really beautiful and peaceful cabin. It's got everything you'll ever need and more... Location is within minutes from both Snow Summit and Big Bear skiing, just around the corner from Snow Play. The hot tub is great and relaxing! Loved all the technology, Pandora, Netflix, everything. Very clean and the owner was very helpful. I would definitely recommend this! Thanks!
