My wife and I lived in Colorado for several years and purchased the cabin for our own enjoyment. We have since moved back to the Midwest but love to visit with our expanding family.

The Owner purchased this cabin in 2009

We love the proximity to hiking and biking trails and the town of Grand Lake offers many amenities we couldn't resist. The 4th of July fireworks are something to behold.

We have seen moose, elk, fox, and other wildlife while staying in the cabin. The 4th of July fireworks display in Grand Lake can be seen from our property and is especially fun with a fire going in the fire-pit.

We had a great stay. The view out of the front picture window looks out on the lake and mountains. The house was comfortable and had what we needed to have a nice, relaxing vacation.

GREAT ESCAPE - PERFECT LOCATION

  • 5 of 5
Property is fully furnished and equipped with all you will need during your stay in one of the most beautiful places on earth. The whole front of the house is lined with large pane windows that look over shadow mountain lake- You will never forget the view!
The location is perfect - out of town, but just around the corner from the town of Grand Lake and the entrance to Rocky Mountain National Park.
The place was clean and well kept, but also very simple and cozy.
Our party had 4 kids and 4 adults, we fit the space well with room to spare.
Thanks a million! We Loved our stay!!

Owner's Response: The views from the front of the cabin really drew us in and are about as good as you are going to get with the lake and the mountains so close. The proximity to Grand Lake and RMNP make it very easy for day trips. Our goal is to provide a comfortable getaway and we are very glad you enjoyed your stay. We hope you are able to come back again. Thank you.

ONE MONTH IN THIS MOUNTAIN CABIN.

  • 4 of 5
My wife and I spent the month of August in this Grand Lake cabin. It had a well equipped kitchen and plenty of room. The weather was perfect and the wildlife put on a show for us. There were two large moose that grazed the front yard for about an hour. We saw a lot of deer, a fox, and lots of ground squirrels. The view from the house is excellent for watching water foul, and lots of lake activities. The cabin is a short way off of a main highway but we could not hear the traffic when we were inside. The cabin was very comfortable and also very convenient to Grand Lake. It was a good home base for visiting Granby, Winter Park and other surrounding villages. We were informed that the cabin shared a well with others; however, we had no problems with water supply. The cabin was clean and well maintained.
Be sure to dine at the Grand Lake Lodge. It has a beautiful view and good food.
I would gladly recommend this cabin to families with children or old folks like us. Thanks for letting us stay in your home away from home.

CUTE HOME ON THE LAKE!

  • 4 of 5
My boyfriend and I recently stayed at this cabin and had a great time. The views from the cabin are excellent! The cabin was well equipped and was the perfect size for us. Although they cabin is on a well, we experienced no problems with water pressure. The cabin felt cool in the day and the heat was comforting in the evening. This cabin is at a great location because it is right outside RMNP. We enjoyed hiking throughout the day and relaxing in the cabin at night. The only issue we had was that the steps leading up to the cabin were a bit loose so you need to be careful when walking up them. Other than that, we really enjoyed our stay. I would recommend this cabin to anyone looking to be close to RMNP that is looking for a relaxing getaway!

Owner's Response: The proximity to Rocky Mountain National Park was one of the key features we considered when we bought the cabin. We are glad you enjoyed your stay and hope you can come back again soon. Thank you.

Owner's Response: We are glad you enjoyed your stay at our cabin. The area has a lot to offer to a lot of different types of people but especially to nature enthusiasts. The view of the lake with the mountains in the background is probably one of our favorite views in the whole area. We hope you get a chance to stay with us again. Thank you.

AWESOME CABIN...

  • 5 of 5
We had a group of 8, including 3 teenagers, and I have to say, this was the perfect spot for our our vacation. It is a close drive to RMNP, as well as easy access to all of the great little shops and restaurants in Grand Lake. We hiked many of the trails daily and went fishing for trout, as well. We loved the Adams Falls hike - where we saw a large Bull Moose - but I think our group's favorite was the hike to the Fire Spotting Tower at the top of Shadow Mountain! Not all of us made it to the top, but the ones who did thought it was well worth the time and effort!!! We also celebrated our son's 25th birthday with a dinner at La Pacifica Restaurant. Yummy food!!!! We LOVED the "uncommercialized" aspect of staying in this area and the views from this cabin are amazing. We were so excited to see elk just behind the cabin, as well as a young bull moose a little farther down the road and of course all of the little hummingbirds!!! We had nightly bon fires in the fire pit, where we even cooked a couple of the Rainbow Trout we caught earlier in the day. The kids loved that! Overall, I don't think we could have enjoyed ourselves any more than we did in this cabin.

If you are looking for an affordable, clean, nicely stocked kitchen, with comfy furniture and breathtaking views - type of place to stay for your next Colorado adventure, this is the place!

Owner's Response: Thanks for a very nice review. Every time we hear about someone else spotting wildlife, it makes us smile. It seems like everyone sees at least something depending on what trails they venture off on. We love the views from the old fire lookout though it does take some effort to get there. We hope you are able to come back again soon. Thank you.
