This is a smoke-free, spacious home, sitting at the corner of Freeman and Pacific Avenue, one block from the ocean.

Walk out either Freeman or Pacific Avenue, and you come to a small picnic area that straddles some of the most spectacular scenery on the Pacific Coast. To the south runs a rugged, rocky ocean front with a picturesque view of the lighthouse.

To the north stretches a beautiful sandy beach, sheltered from the waves by sea stacks and a small rock island that harbors a large population of birds and a colony of sea lions.

To the north, and only minutes away by car, is Point Saint George, which is much more exposed and offers a spectacular place to hike during major storms. Crescent City Bay, at the southern edge of town, tends to be relatively protected because of its U-shaped coastline.

Just outside the southern city line is the border of Redwoods National Park. The coastal redwoods here are among the most grand and spectacular of their kind and form cathedral-like hiking areas.

On the west side of highway 101 the steep slopes descend all the way to rocky beaches and small coves at the Pacific Ocean. On the east side, moss-covered forests often provide beautiful views of rays of sunlight penetrating a hazy atmosphere.

Other activities include ocean kayaking, canoeing the Smith and Klamath rivers, or any of the other rivers in the area. You may also partake in bird watching, deep sea fishing, bicycling, etc.

This corner of California is an outdoors paradise, and yet is still relatively quiet and unspoiled.

Thank you for the great place to stay while getting away for awhile. We enjoyed the location as we went for a walk every day down to the ocean and drove all over to see the redwoods and surrounding areas. We played more family games then we have for the past year. Was a great time and really enjoyed it.

OK, so I broke the one year rule. At the time of our stay, I didn't realize we could leave a review. Our family stayed in this home for 4 nights, I think, over the July 4th holiday of 2006. The home was clean and well cared for and we loved the easy, across-the-street access to the beach. We had everything we needed. Just looking at the pictures again brought back fun memories of staying in this home. We are planning another family trip in 2013, again over the 4th of July, and would absolutely consider staying in this home again. Thanks for great memories and hopefully, we'll make more! OH! Love the back yard too!

Thank you for the wonderful time we had in Crescent City at the rental. It was so nice to be back on the coast. We took our son down to the tide pools off Pebble Beach Drive and we had a blast. The house was lovely and we enjoyed our stay. The beach was beautiful, the area was so pleasant and the location was great for us to use a a "base" to explore such wonderful sights as the Redwood Forest etc. Thank you for everything.
