BEAUTIFUL CREEKSIDE HOME IN MARIPOSA PINES CLOSE TO YOSEMITE.

Mariposa House Rental Photos and Description

House, 3 Bedrooms, 2 Baths, (Sleeps 6)

Built in 1998 this modern 1600 sq. ft. ranch style home has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. Our home has a beautiful large kitchen completely stocked for cooking needs. The living room and dining area are large and open with lovely and comfortable furnishings. There is a large laundry room available for our guests. You step out the front door and are surrounded by trees over one hundred years old, huge granite rocks and a seasonal creek right in front of the house. Early risers can enjoy that first cup of morning coffee with a leisurely walk or sitting under the trees enjoying the quiet and fresh air. Yosemite is approx. a one hour drive along the Merced River which meanders through canyons into the park. For advanced hikers our home is two miles from one of the most beautiful hikes in Mariposa. Search: Hite Cove trail for details. Historical downtown Mariposa is 20 minutes away with gold mining and rock museums, shopping, restaurants and antique stores. You can pick up the YARTS bus into the park in several locations in town. Bus fare includes admission into the park. Yosemite zip line tours are just outside of the town of Mariposa. Chuckchansi Casino is 45 minutes away with live shows and several restaurants. Bass Lake is 45 minutes away with boating, jet skiing, fishing and swimming. Zephyr white water river rafting is 20 minutes away

Keywords: See our reviews by past guests who have loved our home away from home. A comment we constantly get from guests is how cool, lush and heavily wooded our area is compared to the lower elevations in Mariposa. One of our guests little girl described our property as being like 'Narnia'. Surrounded by oaks, pines and a seasonal creek. There are frequently deer and wild turkeys strolling around the property. Our home is also available for exchange in Europe and the U.S.

We have loved our home in the mountains since 2003 with many family and friend gatherings. Living in a large city, it is nice to escape to an area where people do not even lock their doors.

Eileen Blankenhorn purchased this house in 2003

Our home is located at a 4,000 ft. elevation rich in forest life, cool summers and beauty unlike the lower elevations in Mariposa. We bought in this area because of the extreme beauty of the surroundings and accessibility to hiking and bike trails. We have filled our home with art and decor from our wonderful travels.

Located in a serene quiet neighborhood, beautiful wooded property and excellent roads!

Relaxing Getaway!

  • 5 of 5
This cabin was the "getaway" experience my family was hoping for. My husband's grandparents had flown in from Florida and we wanted to treat them to a mini vacation. They both fell in love with this cabin, as did I, my husband and our son. As soon as we opened the front door, I could feel my stress and anxiety melt away. This is truly a retreat!
We didn't mind the drive to Yosemite. A little over an hour away, but the drive was beautiful. No complaints on distance.
We arrived during a heat wave, even so, the house was still comfortable without the air conditioner. I'm sure it would be even more pleasurable in the fall and spring months!
The cabin had everything we could ask for. The kitchen had all the plates, pans, glasses, utensils we could ever need. The beds were all comfortable. The decoration of the cabin truly invites one to relax. The seating out front was a gathering point for us all.
I would recommend this cabin to families who want to relax and enjoy nature. We hope to come again in the fall or spring.

Great rental in a lovely spot

  • 5 of 5
We were looking for an affordable and comfortable place to stay near Yosemite, while our grown children went backpacking in the park. We explored the area on day trips, returning to this lovely, well-equipped home each night for a good night's rest. We spent a little more time driving than we had expected, but it was all so scenic, we didn't mind. We discovered some great places nearby, off the beaten track, including some beautiful swimming holes in the recreation area by the Merced River, the museum in Mariposa, and several good restaurants: Savourys, Sugar Pine Cafe, and the cafe at the whole foods grocery store. The house is delightful, though we didn't get to experience the babbling creek or campfires during this extremely dry summer. We saw lots of wildlife, including a family of quail scurrying through the backyard every morning. We had a little trouble with raccoons getting into an outside garbage can, and the managers of the property (who live right across the road) were very helpful in solving the problem right away. Everything was just right: comfortable beds, great kitchen, lots of extras provided for comfort and entertainment. Highly recommend!

Great cabin!

  • 5 of 5
The owner was super friendly and helpful even before arriving there. We exchanged emails beforehand and they provided excellent information about the location, surroundings and stuff to do around.
The property manager greeted us upon arrival and she gave us a tour of the cabin. We loved everything right away. The rooms were clean, beds very comfy, and the big living room is so cozy! Nothing was missing from the kitchen either. For a 2 night stay, we had everything we needed to cook delicious meals.
Conveniently located about one hour from Yosemite Village, the cabin is in a great quiet location, perfect for people who want to escape the city and enjoy gazing at the stars at night!

The house was amazing! It was in pretty great condition, had more than we had ever anticipated. The beds were comfortable which is a plus and had more than we needed for cooking home cooked meals. What was more pleasant that some thing we had forgotten she had stocked in the house!
It is fairly close to Yosemite, about 1 hr away but there are several walking trails we took advantage of. Everyone was so nice and made us feel extremely welcome.
Property owner was very easy to get in touch with and made the transaction a breeze. I am certainly coming back to this outstanding location!

Home away from Home!

  • 5 of 5
My family and I loved this little cozy house. The drive and the little ways to Yosemite was worth being able to come back to relax in this "home away from home" house! We loved the fireplace/stove - so cute.

Notes:
Outside seating next to our creek with views of one hundred plus year old trees is incredibly relaxing. Views of the stars at night is unmatched. Our home is within the boundry of the Sierra National Forest at a 4,000 foot elevation, so the summer days are breezy with temperatures in the low 80's. We are located one minute to the trail head of the back country of Yosemite. You can ride ATV's or dirt bikes for hours and not run into another rider. You enter beautiful forest, creeks, abandoned gold mines and wildlife habitat. This area really is like no other.
