LUXURY APARTMENT IN DOWN TOWN FLORENCE, TUSCANY, ITALY

Beatiful apartment. Luxury decorated and very comfortable. Location is closed to every attraction in Florence, just 2' walking to Galleria de l'Academia and no more than 10 to the Duomo. 7 min walking to the train Station.Great restaurants within 2' walking distance.

Matilda superb. She received us when arrived to explain all about the ap. and gave us her direct contact for ant issue we could have to deal with.

Our family of 5 (2 adults + 3 kids) stayed here for 6 nights while in Florence in June 2012. We had originally booked 2 hotel rooms which would have been very expensive then opted to try vrbo apartment option. You get a lot more for the money with an apartment -- we literally got 3x the space at half the price versus the hotel we had booked, plus a washer/dryer which was key for traveling with kids. Matilda was a gracious host, met us on time and even left some wine/fruit for our arrival. The location was superb for our needs, only 10-12 min walk to the Duomo and maybe 15 min walk to the river and 10 minute walk to the train station. The neighborhood appeared safe and the bedrooms located on the back of the building were relatively quiet. The apartment does share the same street entry as the Hotel Picadilly which is only a 2 star hotel so the entry lobby on ground floor and staircase is rather stark and institutional but fine nonetheless (note, the apartment is not in anyway related to the Hotel Picadilly other than sharing a common street entrance and elevator). The apartment is very functional and clean, but I would not compare it to what your might get from a Five Star hotel, more like a 3-4 star hotel accommodation but still great value for your money when comparing to hotels in that price range for larger groups/families. I would stay here again for this price point, but might also consider spending a bit more $ per night to find accommodation closer to five star. In any case, we had a great time and highly recommend Florence as well as this apartment if you are looking in this price range, especially for groups of 4 or more people.

This apartment was absolutely terrific! We are a family of four with two teenage children ages 14 and 16 that stayed in this apartment for 10 days. It was in the perfect location on the north side of Florence away from the tourist scene, but within walking distance of it. The location was exactly as it was stated in the listing. Very close and walking distance to the train and all popular spots. The pictures were a perfect indication as to what this apartment looked like from the inside. The apartment itself was absolutely gorgeous and immaculately clean. There was every amenity you could ever need or want, from beautiful hotel linens with down comforters on deliciously comfortable beds to plush hotel towels and a well appointed kitchen fully stocked with beautiful tableware. It was better than living in a five star hotel!! It was a warm and inviting place with terrific views out of every window. The church bells ringing on Sunday morning in the distance were magical. This apartment was within walking distance of everything. There was a terrific grocery store at the end of the street with a fabulous bakery. Coffee bars and cafes were all within steps of the building. There were many local restaurants that were terrific as well. The owner was so welcoming and delightful! She made us feel so welcome and really at home like we were family! It really made our vacation special! She was always available and very helpful if we had questions or needed any help. I can't wait to come back to such a beautiful city and stay in such a beautiful apartment! Thank you, thank you, thank you Matilda!! Ciao!
