Cozy, light filled, comfortable 100 year old cottage located on hilltop in quiet neighborhood with 1 acre of woods in back. It has two bedrooms, 1 bath, full kitchen, linens furnished. It is centrally located for exploring many wonderful sites in the area: Pacific beaches 20-30 minutes away in Westport and Ocean Shores. Thrift shops, antique shops in Aberdeen and Hoquiam and more antique shops in Centrelia, 1 hour away. Day trips to Ruby Beach, Hoh Rain Forest and Forks are about 2 hours. Lake Quinault with boating, fishing, hiking is about 45 minutes away.
This is a special place to relax and enjoy the peacefulness or to explore wonderful nearby places.

I am Susan Hand. I live in Houston, TX. I love to travel the world and have explored many beautiful places but this area is still my favorite. I come here as often as possible.
Susan Hand purchased this cottage in 2007
I loved this cottage the minute I saw it. The energy in and around the cottage is amazing--very peaceful and nourishing. I bought in as a second home, loved furnishing it and taking care of it. I have wonderful neighbors across the street and next door who also look after it. I love this area. I always go to Westport for the beautiful beach, the winery, lighthouse. I also love Ruby Beach, Lake Quinault, the beautiful Hoh Rain Forest with the Hall of Mosses. I enjoy day trips to Seattle, Olympia, Astoria, Oregon on some trips. An overnight trip to Vancouver Island and Victoria, BC is also a wonderful excursion.
I love spending time relaxing, reading, doing puzzles at the cottage. I also love to explore the many wonderful places nearby.
This delightful cottage looks and feels like a home a dear friend has lovingly prepared and made ready for you. Comfortable beds, plenty of space, delightful bathroom, great kitchen, all in a nice neighborhood with plenty of privacy. Very pleasing decor and lovely yard. We were able to explore mountains, rain forest, and beaches and come back each evening to our perfect spot. We are already looking forward to our next trip there!
Love, love, loved this place. Very cute, very clean, and provided everything we would need when staying out of town (washer/dryer, full kitchen, cable tv and internet, and much more). Much better than staying a at hotel as it provides much more space and way more cozy for around the same price. I would highly recommend this to anyone looking for a place to stay in the Aberdeen area and my family and I will definitely stay here next time we are in the area. Beautiful scenery, sits on top of a hill, big park with playground for kids right down the road, everything you might need in regards to food or stores is within a mile or so. We absolutely loved this place and the owner(s) of the rental were a pleasure to work with.
This beautiful cottage is located in a lovely, safe-feeling, neighborhood, high on a hill. It sits on a spacious lot for a feeling of woodsy privacy. The exterior looked freshly painted, cheerful and inviting. Obviously well cared for. The huge pink camillia was in full bloom. When we entered the cottage we instantly felt at home. Tastfully decorated in neutrals, with splashes of color throughout, it provided the perfect "home base" for us to kick back and visit with our daughter and grandson.
After locating Lytles, a store with fresh seafood, we were able to purchase a huge filet of Salmon (and more to take home) for the much requested Salmon feast. The kitchen was perfectly outfitted with everything we needed for this very special family meal, leisurely shared together, in the lovely dining room. The beds were SO comfortable. We were warm and sleep was easy. Towels were plenty and luxurious.
We hope to be back soon, for a longer stay.
Thank you, Susan, for sharing this special place with us. It is delighful in every way!
We enjoyed our stay very much. The home is decorated in a wonderful comfortable style. Very well appointed. We were in Aberdeen to visit family and attend a class reunion. We will be back again next year.
This cottage was beautiful with every comfort from home you can imagine! Every last detail was thought of from the clean fresh towels and soft linens to an incredible homemade binder that had maps pointing out specific local attractions and the owner's suggestions of favorite day or half-day trips as well as places to eat or specific places to stop and enjoy views. The BEST part though was the unobstructed 360 degree view we had of the wildlife around! We had 3 deer -one a fawn who could barely walk- visit with us each day. We could watch them only a few feet from us witbout disturbig them due to the large windows on all sides of the house. Incredible!! Would highly recommend.
We went to Aberdeen to visit family. It's rather tough to find hotel accommodations that are reasonable in price....really anything in the area for a reasonable price. :) This home was very nice. We enjoyed all the comforts of home being away from home. I'm a little addicted to vrbo now. Thanks Susan for being quick to answer emails and for opening your home to us on this vacation!!
