Portland Cottage Rental Photos and Description
Cottage, Studio + stand-up bedroom loft, 1 Bath (Sleeps 4)
Our quiet, cute, ultra-clean cottage, in the heart of the city, was completely refurbished in 2011. The decor combines sustainable surfaces, contemporary furnishings and antiques, repurposed pieces, stainless steel touches, cathedral ceiling and lots of natural light.
Private and modern, the roomy Portland Urban Cottage is a bright and airy miniature of the main house next door. The open living space offers plenty of storage for personal belongings and includes an open loft room, a fully equipped chef's kitchen and an enclosed private laundry and utility room.
Just an 8 minute drive to downtown city center, Portland Urban Cottage is located in the upscale, charming Sellwood-Westmoreland neighborhood, on the inner SE side of Portland. This quiet residential area, lined by numerous varieties of canopied trees and flowering plants, is always an invigorating place for a stroll.
The cottage sleeps up to four. A deluxe Portland built queen sized futon sits in a nook on the main level. And a locking oak library ladder, with hand rails, leads to a comfortable antique birch double bed in the unique and fully furnished, stand-up loft.
Guests staying two weeks or less may select breakfast from a daily menu. Delicious seasonal breakfasts are prepared and delivered to the cottage each morning by the host, an award winning recipe writer and cook.
Relax in front of the fireplace, watch the flat screen TV, read a cottage book, play a board game or enjoy selections from our media library.
A glider swing, for guests, sits in a pocket garden next to the cottage. During fair weather, (Mother's Day to October 1) guests are also welcome in the host's backyard garden, to relax, read, socialize and enjoy the solace and beauty of our northwest paradise.
Two bicycles are housed in a bike 'garage' next to the cottage entry. Guests are welcome to use the bikes for nearby sightseeing, a ride to parks or to go shopping at a variety of interesting neighborhood shops.
If you'd like to head downtown, but don't want to drive, bus stops are located in every direction and are just a few blocks from the house and cottage.
After a busy day, enjoy a meal at one of our many local restaurants or pubs. Or prepare your own dinner in our fully equipped chef's caliber kitchen. Oregon wine is available, in the cottage, for guests who would enjoy a glass but prefer not to go shopping.
We'll do our best to make your stay and your Portland activities as uncomplicated and pleasant as possible.

Guestbook comments from the manager
"Thank you for the incredible breakfasts and coffee. We loved the cottage, cozy atmosphere and neighborhood. We'll be back."
Lisa Balmes, Property Manager
In 2005, we moved to Portland from a semi- rural home in the southern Willamette valley. Our move was a wise decision. We love city life.
We look forward to meeting new people and hope our guests feel we are competent, caring hosts.
Our home is adjacent to the Portland Urban Cottage rental and separated by a privacy fence and backyard garden. We appreciate the beauty and charm of this neighborhood and its convenience to limitless urban amenities.
The rental cottage was completely refurbished during 2011, and opened as a bed and breakfast / guest rental on February 1, 2012. We love it here and our guests seem to agree.
Located in the upscale, eclectic Sellwood-Moreland neighborhood, the cottage is both cozy and roomy. Its combination of modern decor, antiques, sustainable finishes, VOC free paint and 'green' cleaning results in an attractive, healthy and charming vacation getaway.
If it's 'quiet' you seek, you're bound to become wistful and relaxed when wandering through our urban paradise. If you're interested in the local sites and nightlife - they're just minutes away.
