'R & R' GULF VIEW ON THE BEAUTIFUL UPPER HALF OF THE CAPE

Cape San Blas House Rental Photos and Description

House, 3 Bedrooms + Convertible bed(s), 3.5 Baths, Sleeps 8

This is a beautiful 1760 SF home just steps from Cape Shoals Beach. The house is located in a small subdivision that offers private beach access along with a quiet and friendly environment. The house is conveniently located between the 'Trading Post' and St. Joseph State Park, with a covered carport large enough for three vehicles and driveway space for a boat. The outside amenities include an enclosed hot and cold water shower, picnic table, charcoal BBQ grill, beach chairs and sand toys. There is a bike path on the Cape and a park with covered pavillions located within walking distance to the house.

The first floor entry area has a freezer stocked with six 20 pound bags of ice to keep your vacation drinks cold. Ice on the Cape is expensive and doesn't last long on those hot summer days. This area also provides great entertainment for the kids with a foosball table, and basketball game.

The second floor features the main living area, kitchen, master suite, laundry room and 1/2 bath. Your family and friends will enjoy a 50 inch plasma TV, DVD player, stereo with six disc CD changer. The queen sofa is a pull out bed for extra sleeping space. The kitchen/dining area is well equipped, including microwave, blender, electric hand mixer, twelve cup coffee maker, four slice toaster, waffle iron, electric griddle and dishwasher. The kitchen has plenty of pots, pans, cooking utensils and place settings for eight. The master suite features a king size bed, 42 inch plasma TV, DVD player and walk in closet. The master bath has double vanities and a large walk in shower. The laundry room has a large capacity washer and dryer making it easy to keep all those beach towels and sandy clothes clean during your stay. Enjoy your morning coffee or evening cocktail on the screened in porch.

The third floor has a second master suite with private bath, queen size bed, walk-in closet, 32 inch plasma TV and DVD player. This suite offers a sitting area furnished with a recliner and lamp for reading and relaxing. There is also a private screened balcony with gulf view off this bedroom. The third bedroom has a private bath, two full size beds, a 32 inch plasma TV and a DVD player

Great family vacation spot!

  • 5 of 5
The house was great!! Way nicer than even expected from the pictures!! Very spacious and well kept! So many "amenities" and "extras" (toys, chairs, kitchen spices, storage bags, soaps) were so great! It was all very nice and the walk to beach was not bad either due to the road being paved. I was hesitant about the house not being "beachfront"---but this was definitely the next best thing. All the extras a s cleanliness made up for that. We left our pop up canopy, cabana, toys and chairs all on the beach for a week (all out of site from the house) and nothing was ever disturbed! The locals and "experienced" vacationers of the area were so friendly and informative. This house was so close to the convenient Trading Post and to St Joseph park which was extremely nice! Bill was exceptionally helpful and attentive to questions and issues that arose. We went with our family of 3 kids 6 and under and it was perfect! Thanks for such a great vacation home!

Best Ever

  • 5 of 5
I have tried several vacation homes in the area and this was by far one of the best for the price. It was clean and well kept. The owners supplied enough paper goods so that we didn't have to grab things on the way in on a late arrival, which in our experience is not common. Having direct contact with the owner and not just a leasing agent was great. The walk to the beach was 100 easy steps. We will return here!

Nothing worse than "FANTASTIC"

Nothing worse than "FANTASTIC"

My wife & I & 2 friends stayed here for a week in July, as the girls love the beach, & my friend & me love to scallop. Staying at Bill & Genines place " R & R " was the perfect place to keep everyone happy, as the girls kept close tabs on the tide at the beach, we filled our scallop bags up in St. Joe Bay. We went out 5 times, and got our limit all 5 times. This is a GREAT year for scallops, & its hard to beat a fresh bay scallop dinner!! The house was well equipped, as I’m a cook in a restaurant, when we went to make breakfast, lunch, or dinner, we didn’t need anything, its all there. Just bring food & beverages.

The house is very nice, as pictures can sometimes make things look better than they really are, R & R was NOT the case, the house out did all our expectations. It’s the ONLY house I seen in the area that not only had 1, but 2 screen rooms. One was off the living room on the 2nd floor and was huge, the width of the house, the second one was on the 3rd floor , off of the 2nd master bedroom, which was the perfect spot to have my coffee while everyone was still sleeping.

Another GREAT feature, which isn’t appreciated til it happens, “R & R” has 2 entrances to their house, with one that is completely covered. And when you get there / or fixing to leave, and it’s pouring down rain. While everyone in all the other rentals are caring all their cloths / grocery’s / ect in the rain up/down the steps, we took our time and stayed dry. Like I said, you don’t appreciate it, til it happens.

We would definitely recommend staying here on your vacation. There is no doubt that we will be back with the family / friends sometime next year. The owner, Bill & Genine, was very easy to deal with and honest about everything. There were no surprises, no hidden cost, and they go out of their way to make sure everything is perfect!

Exactly R&R

Exactly R&R

My husband & I were looking for just that, R&R, and we were not disappointed. The pictures on the house/location are exactly what you see, there are no hidden surprises. It was peaceful, wonderful, relaxing as we were looking for a getaway from the college kid spring break destinations (which is hard to find when our vacations are based on teacher breaks). I was a little anxious at first as this was our first experience with a VRBO, after this experience however; I refuse to stay in another hotel again. I loved not having to be at the mercy of anyone else's schedule (room service, cleaning, restaurant hours, etc), loved grilling/eating on the beach, and beating to the sound of our own drum. Cape San Blas is just a gem, the sunsets/sunrises never get old, we will be back. My only advice is people that are traveling through Atlanta airport to find a different route, Atlanta is a disaster, flights canceled, poor service, shorted my trip by a day. This didn't ruin my vacation, just will take a different route for next time. It is now May, supposed to be spring, I look outside my window and its still snowing here in Northern Wisconsin, now longing to get back to R&R....

Great House!

  • 5 of 5
The house was so clean and comfortable and Bill was very easy to deal with, accurate, and helpful. I was a bit apprehensive about the walk to the beach but it was VERY short and VERY easy which is important to me as I have Chronic Fatigue Syndrome and 2 small grandchildren - a piece of cake! The first few days of rainy mornings and partly cloudy, clearing afternoons was a God send for my fair-haired grandbabies on their first trip to the beach. Glad I had a pop-up shade tent for the full sun days - we sat in the shade and built sand castles. Our best meal out was pan sauteed red snapper in a lemon caper/artichoke sauce at The Owl Cafe in Appalachicola - C'est ci bon! We visited St. Joseph Pennisula State Park which is so beautiful. However, it was an extremely difficult trek to the beach in the primative area with the babies - much longer than I remembered from my previous visit 3 years prior. My daughter had to carry the 18 month old and we were both exhausted! But we did enjoy the beach and there were only two other small family groups there spread far apart! Even the beach at the house was very uncrowded. We would definately recommend this house to anyone for a wonderful, restful and relaxing vacation - it's great! Thanks again Bill and Genine! Brenda
