The house is an old Mesia (a farmhouse where the cattle sheltered downstairs whilst the family lived upstairs (heat rises) ... the whole is now converted into a beautiful countryside residence with a beautiful garden, courtyard and terraces. The house is surrounded by orange groves and whilst seemingly deep in the countryside it is in fact only 5 minutes from the fantastic shops and market in Tortosa. The nearest beaches are a 20 minute drive and you have the pick of the Costa Daurada as well as the coast to the south into Valencia province. Barcelona is about one and a half hours in the car and Valencia about the same. It takes just 40 minutes to reach the house from Reus Airport.

The house is an ancient Mesia believed to be 16th Century but converted into a spacious and comfortable dwelling. The surrounding area is predominantly orange grove with terraces behind the house also planted with almond and carob. There is a well kept front garden and large internal courtyard with a family dining table. The nearest town is Tortosa which has shops, bars, restaurants and supermarkets and is easily reached from the AP7 motorway. Beaches stretch the length of the coast both north and south with the additional attractions of the world renowned Ebro Delta and the Parc El Ports to either side. The house is ringed by mountains and is most mornings bathed in a beautiful red sunrise.

Additional information about rental rates

  • I will accept €100 per person per week off peak but this assumes a group of at least 4 as this is a large house suitable for 10. For less than 4 people the minimum charge would be €400 for the week. The price includes all bed linen supplied and the house is completely furnished with all crockery, cutlery, pots and pans etc. There really is no need to bring anything but yourselves.

    Note nightly prices are per person.

Notes: The swimming pool is a natural water pool which requires a little daily maintenance (mainly just clearing the leaves from the surface). If it is filled on arrival and emptied on leaving the water will be good for a week or two. We can provide someone to come and clean the pool as required.
