Perfect home away from home

The Francis Home was the perfect temporary rental for us because our daughter (who happens to live in Walla Walla) delivered our first grandchild this summer - so we could be close but not burdensome houseguests, as were several other members of our family at various times.
This home surpassed our expectations even though the pictures and description led us to believe it would be clean and comfortable. It was all that and appointed with everything we could need - except a fly swatter - which we acquired and left....although I don't remember needing it more than once, but he was a stubborn one!
We especially enjoyed having our morning coffee on the front porch and greeting people passing by and then enjoying our wine on the back deck and greeting others heading to and from the park. The park was heaven for our dog - so much room to run, so many playmates, never enough time.
Walla Walla is a charming small town with the quintessential main street, many wonderful places to dine, unique shops and of course, a wine tasting room on nearly every block. Cultural opportunities abound as well, in the form of symphony and stage productions (both indoor and out), galleries and numerous pieces of sculpture both downtown and on the Whitman College campus.
We would recommend the Francis House without reservation to anyone wanting to spend a little time in a lovely community with wonderful accommodations - two bedrooms plus a sofa bed in the TV room and two bathrooms make arrangements for a family very easy. But it is private and cozy for two
as well.
