Classic northwoods cabin located just 10 miles south of downtown Hayward, on peaceful Schoolhouse Lake. Enjoy relaxing on the dock, fishing, getting out on the pontoon, paddleboat or canoe. Marvel at the stunning lake view from the spaciaous deck with a firepit, gas grill, picnic and patio table and sun embrella. The cabin is surrounded by tall pines and gardens. You may see an occasional deer stroll passed the deck or eagles cruising above the trees. Enjoy a cup of coffee or glass of wine as you listen to the birds and loon's call while enjoying the scenic view. The Summer months are beautiful. Fall brings the blazing color of the Northwoods of Wisconsin, to your doorstep. Enjoy a cozy winter getaway or stay during the American Birkebeiner, cozied up to the fireplace.

I grew up in Northcentral Wisconsin and have always enjoyed woodland and lake life. I bought this property for to enjoy with my two children, who are now away at school, which is why I have opened my home up to others who enjoy a great North woods adventure and escape.

Hayward is a great place to relax but also offers great restaurants, golf, mini-golf, go carting, old fashioned candy shop, nature center, petting zoo and other great activities for the whole family.

What makes this house unique

The cabin is on a wooded property just steps from the water. If you enjoy going on long walks you can go for miles, exploring all that Northern WI has to offer. Angler's Haven is a fun bar/restaurant one mile from the cabin. It is on beautiful Lac Courte Oreilles and has a great menu and activities for kids of all ages.

Cabin was very clean and was so inviting and decorated so cute. Everything was as promised. Very easy to get to from main roads. Owner was good at returning e-mails. We were so happy with our stay

Wonderful Northwoods Getaway

My wife and I and our 3 year old son have stayed at this cabin for the last 3 summers and have enjoyed every minute of our vacation. We usually start our day with breakfast on the deck. Then take a slow boat ride around the lake. Sometimes we lay out on the dock and get some sun during the day or we take a walk down the tree lined dirt road. Our son loves the sandbox and watching the friendly little chipmunk who visits every year. We have seen every type wildlife as well as watched the northern lights! It's a quick drive into Hayward or Stone Lake for shopping or eating out. There are a couple nice resorts nearby that are great for sitting waterside for dinner. At the end of our day, we either curl up and read in the serene quiet or watch movies or host a get together and play games in the open living room. My wife has also stayed here a couple times with a group of girlfriends and they've always had a blast!

Early Summer Vacation

What a wonderful, relaxing place to spend the week. It was clean, quiet and comfortable. Everything was in working order. Very easy to find and and the owner was very helpful in suggesting things to do in the area. On her suggestion, walking to Angler's Haven for dinner was a wonderful way to end the day. We rented the pontoon, I'm not a boater and it worked great. The lake is very quiet, not a lot of boat traffic, so it was easy to get around for night cruising under the stars and breakfast out on the lake. It was more than we expected. We have recommended this getaway to many of our friends. We will be back.

A great vacation place!

We just returned from our vacation on Schoolhouse Lake and had a terrific time. Prior to our trip, the owner was quick to respond to my questions about the cabin, lake and area. The cabin was accurately described in the listing and was every bit as nice as we hoped. We rented the pontoon boat along with the cabin which was a smart choice. It's easy to start and operate and a fun way to get around the lake. Large bluegill are plentiful and I caught a few bass too. The neighbors said the lake also has walleye. The lake is small, peaceful and quiet. No jet skis or high speed boats. Although the kitchen was fully equipped, we like to dine out on vacation and found plenty of local bar/grills and supper clubs to try. A great, relaxing vacation and a place we would recommend to friends or family.

Relaxing Weekend

What a wonderful place to escape! The setting is quiet and peaceful. We enjoyed relaxing on the deck and absorbing the calming lake view. We caught some nice fish from the paddle boat, explored the entire lake in the canoe and were even greeted by a Loon swimming across. We also brought our bikes along and took advantage of the extensive trail system nearby. The cottage is spacious and so nicley decorated plus it has everything!!! We had planned to visit some of the local restaurants but because the kitchen was so well equipped, we decided to eat in and enjoy a fire in the fire pit! The owner was so prompt in responding to all our questions. We will definitely return!
