Villa Ithaca has been recently built and furnished with comfort and fun in mind. The welcoming front door opens onto a large open living, dining and kitchen area. Relax on the two large and comfy sofas and enjoy the amazing views of the mountains & the bright blue Ionian Sea through the two large patio doors . One sofa converts to a double sofa bed. Also provided is a flat screen TV, DVD player & Playstation2. The villa is fully air conditioned. The cool bedrooms offer a relaxing atmosphere and both have large patio doors through which you can watch the amazing sunrises and sunsets over the breathtakingly blue sea. The master bedroom has King Size bed, large fitted wardrobes & en suite bathroom. Bedroom 2 has two single beds and large fitted wardrobes At Villa Ithaca there is a large wrap around tiled patio and a private pool perfect for cooling off and relaxing. The villa is completely surrounded by walls, making the garden area the ideal safe place for children to play.

Villa Ithaca was completed in August 2007 and is situated in the village of Karavados in the Livathos area of Kefalonia. The villa has amazing views of Mount Aenos and across the Ionian sea to Zakynthos. Karavados is only a 15 minute drive from the capital Argostoli and the town of Lassi and is a great place as a base to explore everything that Kefalonia has to offer such as Myrtos beach, Melissani Lake and Drogarati cave. The closest beach to Karavados is St Thomas and beaches at Lourdata and Avithos are only a 10 minute drive away. Karavados has a small mini market and the next village of Peratata has a bakery, amazing cake shop(!), and chemist

Villa Ithaca is located on the gorgeous Greek island of Kefalonia, more specifically, in the charming village of Karavados. Located on the Southern coast of Kefalonia, Karavados is a typical peaceful Greek village with narrow streets winding off the main thoroughfare. In the center of the village is a colorful jewelbox church, a few tiny tavernas and a small mini-market and bar where the locals gather to drink coffee and wile away the hours. Walking through the narrow roads of Karavados one finds a mix of beautiful ruins surrounding lush gardens, lovingly tended to vacation cottages and newly built villas all surrounded by pine trees, olive and citrus groves. The nearest beach, St. Thomas (Agios Thomas) is divided into two small sandy beaches with crystal clear water. During high season there are sunbed rentals and there are three tavernas where you can have excellent snacks during the day and dinner in the evenings.

Excellent villa facilities

Our first visit to a Greek island left us with many good memories. In fact, we visited for a second time at the end of the season. The facilities as described by the owners were extremely accurate and we enjoyed every minute. A very relaxing holiday allowing a choice of activities or just relaxing by your own pool certainly appealed to us. Local nightlife is low-key but the choice of eating places was excellent. A visit to Argostoli was 15-20minute drive away and exiting nightlife was available.Beaches and tourist attractions were all worth visiting. Hope to visit again shortly.

Well equiped family villa

I have spent two weeks (August 09) at this villa. The villa a few minutes by car to the local facilities is very clean and well equiped. In a quiet location 5 minutes from the sandy beach at St Thomas, looking on to the mountains and the sea in the distance. A minor problem with airconditioning was sorted out by the owners when we contacted them. This is a safe and fantastic villa for families. The kitchen is equiped to the standard of the average british home which means you have everything you need to cook a familiy meal if you don't wish to eat out a the restaurants. A car is essential as you are not within walking distance of any of the restaurants or shops - if you want peace and quiet, this is the villa for you.

A memorable family holiday

Our 2 week stay in the Villa Ithaca was everything we could wish for. The villa was clean and furnished to a very high standard and exactly as described. The pool and surrounding area was clean, safe and maintained daily. The island itself offered numerous beaches and places of interest, around every corner was a spectacular view that never ceased to amaze. Finding our way around the island was quite straightforward and besides the many beaches (St Thomas, Antisamos and Lassi to name a few) we enjoyed the Melasani Caves, the wondeful yachts in Fiscardo and were lucky enough to catch sight of some loggerhead turtles in Argostili. The resaurants and taverns were plentiful, most offering a good variety of both traditional and more familiar cuisine. Overall, we all thoroughly enjoyed our holiday and would definately like to return.
