Come enjoy the amazing outdoors experience of the High Country. Relax after a long day's hiking, biking or snow sport excursion on our deck while enjoying the cool dry climate of the mountains. Walk to excellent restaurants and bars in downtown Banner Elk. Take the kids to the city park to play on the playground or in the local stream. Within a short drive you can find all of the vacation activities you can imagine.

Keywords: 5 minutes to Sugar Mtn., 12 minutes to Beech Mtn, walk to restaurants and bars, walk to city park, cozy cabin with gas fireplace. Come ski, ride, hike and bike from the most ideal location in the High Country.
About Scott Davidson

As an active father of four daughters I am constantly looking for enriching activities to introduce to my kids. Many days at our cabin they seem just as content to play in the yard or walk to the local park as choosing a more touristy attraction. As for me I love to take them hiking on Grandfather Mountain or watch them fly down Sugar mountain on skis. Afterwards they love the pizza at Sorrentos. And my 12 year old enjoys walking to the Dollar Store to "shop".

We bought this cabin after our first visit to Banner Elk. We felt that the combination between the location of our cabin with it's proximity to so many things that we like to do and the conveneince of walking to town was very compelling. Many trips of 7-10 days we don't want to leave because we have not done everything we intended. Sometimes our cabin simply serves as a place to get away from it all; to just hang out and relax yet knowing we are a short walk to town in case we want to re-enter reality.

What makes this house unique

It is amazing how a 3-5 day or longer stay can help re-charge your batteries in the cool, clean mountain air.

There are many activities nearby like blueberry picking, wine tasting, the Wooly Worm Festival in October and many other craft type shows throughout the spring and fall seasons. There is a great 4th of July celebration with a town parade and party in the park. For the kids there is gem mining, trout fishing, mini golf, go carts, Mystery Hill and other local area attractions including Tweetsie Railroad.
