I Terrazzi nestles in the quiet village of Roccacasale, just below the ruins of the medieval castle. Roccacasale is within the national park and the village clings impossibly to the slopes of the Maiella mountains. Above all, this authentic 16th century house with all modern facilities gives the true feeling of Italian mountain village life. It is an ideal base for exploring the mountains, literally on the doorstep, and the surrounding area which is packed with historical and natural marvels. There are bars and restaurants nearby plus the bustling market town of Sulmona 8km away. The Rome Pescara motorway is 5km from the house giving easy access from both Pescara and Rome airports about 1.5 hours drive to Rome. There are ski resorts nearby, and the beaches of the Adriatic are 30-40 mins away. The house boasts a fantastic roof terrace with a view over the whole area, four good sized bedrooms, 3 bathrooms, lounge area, dining area, and a granite topped kitchen along with a utility room.

Go there and enjoy the mountaigns if you like if not drive 40 min. and lay on the sandy beach. You can simply stay home with a bottle of local wine on the tarrace - view is breathtaking. Food? Go to Sulmona (10 min. driving) and find a restaurant where George Clooney spent a few lovely evenings. Exelent Sea Food avaiable in every place along the adriatic Coast. This is a place to do everything what you like.

Excellent Renovation with Spectatular View

A newly ronvated house which the owners paid close attention to all the details. Plenty of room for a family of 7 with all the ammentities you could ask for on Holiday. A great location after a busy day of exploring the countryside. The view from the house as described was spectactular. This house is nestled in the hill of an undistrubed Italian village so be prepared to feel truly Italian... Excellent value, would stay again without a doubt...

Our walk through Family History

We were very pleased with the property at Via Belvedere #1. The property manager, Sabbino, was very helpful and available.The house was modern, roomy and the views from just about every room was just "awesome!" We had all of the conveniences of being at our own home and the people we met were very friendly and helpful. Being 1-1/2 hour out of Rome we did day trips to most of the famous sights in the area. It is without any hesitation that we sincerely recommend this property if you are going to the Abruzzo area

Belle maison bien agencée dans un beau village .

Rien à dire sur la location: ,tout est fonctionnel,propre,dans un très bon état.
Depuis la terrasse supérieure,la vue est magnifique.
Le village de Roccacasale est une merveille avec ses vieilles maisons d'epoque;malheureusement beaucoup sont en ruines.

Well worth a visit

The 5 of us have just returned after spending a great holiday at 'I Terrazzi' in Roccacasale which is a lovely medieval village. The views from the house terrace are exceptional and so is the house itself. We had a wonderful time visiting all the surrounding areas and then relaxing with a glass of wine on the terrace as we watched the sun setting......wonderful!!

If you're looking for a holiday with a true natural Italian way of life then this is the place to stay.......book it now......you definitely won't regret it.

Our Visit to Roccacasale

Seven of my family, including myself, enjoyed a week in beautiful, I Terrazzi.
Roccacasale is wonderfully rich in history and this house was great. The view is spectacular, every day we enjoyed every aspect of the country side. Sulmona is a great city, the market on Wednesday and Saturday morning is fantastic. The house was very comfortable for the large group, although, the walk up to the house is not for the faint of heart. But saying that, my 84 yr. old mother walked up the hill to the house every day. Driving on these italian roads requires a little patience, but, any stress with that is long gone and we look forward to returning.

Highly Recommended

Amazing views from almost every window. The house is really big and is at the top of the village so not overlooked by anyone. Driving around is a joy due to the mountain views all around.

Also the house has been renovated to a very high standard.

The Skiing was really excellent and not touristy at all, and there are plenty of resorts.

Excellent restaurants in the surrounding towns. The food from the local supermarket was so fresh and tasty.

Internet can be done if you buy a dongle from the nearby shopping center, the signal from the house was very good got about 7mbit/s (more than enough, for browsing and even downloading if need be).

To the east is there are beaches at Pescara 45min drive.

Abbruzzo is the greenest area in Europe with stunning scenery and a huge variety of wildlife. Within the national park there are wolves and bears. Abruzzo has a thousand castles some perilously perched on cliff edges others forming the heart of a settlement. There are many ski resorts near to the house, catering for all abilities. The beaches of Pescara are within easy reach and there are lakes nearby. Sulmona is world famous for its production of confetti and has a great market. There are many villages and towns with fascinating local customs and delicacies, churches and museums to visit and natural wonders such as the waterfall at the San Venanzio gullies. On a practical level there are many shopping centres nearby for groceries and an abundance of bars and restaurants. Interesting local produce includes pottery, lace, jewellery and honey. During the summer there always seems to be a festa to celebrate something in one of the local villages - an experience not to be missed.

  • All the bathrooms have a bathroom cabinet with a light over the sink. The bathroom on the lowest floor has the bath and the other 2 have shower cubicles. The water pressure is good and the hot water is instant.

The fridge, cooker ( gas hob and gas oven) and dishwasher are in the kitchen. The kitchen has granite work surfaces, plenty of storage and under cupboard lighting.
